The Shy Beauty and the Billionaire Beast (Ana and Jaxon) novel Chapter 10

He held my face in place, as his lips connected with mine. With my freed hands I began to push against his chest, but he didn't budge until he finally moved away.

I wiped my lips in disgust and frustration, earning a chuckle from Jaxon.

"Come on Princess, if you actually calmed down, you would've enjoyed it." He stated as he backed up and sat on my bed casually with a sadly gorgeous and confident smile on his face.

"What do you want?" I asked after a silent moment of us staring each other down.

"Nothing. Just wanted to see you." He stated shrugging his shoulders.

"Well you did, now good night." I said dismissing him.

"Jeez, calm your tits will you, can't I stick around, and we talk?" He asked with a teasing smile.

"No. I'm sleepy." I said crossing my arms and looking away with a frown.

"You weren't sleepy ten minutes ago, when you snuck off to see your Romeo." He stated, feigning hurt.

"Well now I am." I said raising my hands looking back at him, "Get out." I said again, my tone now exasperated.

"Alright, I'm leaving." He said, as he stood up and headed for the door, once he got there however, he opened the door, then paused.

He turned and looked at me, and he stared at me for a minute.

"What?" I said looking back at him, though my face began to heat up.

"Nothing, I'm not so bad after you get to know me, you just have to give me a chance, that's all." He said looking down, and for the first time, I noticed that there may actually be a human behind those cold blue eyes.

But that moment was cut short because I had to open my mouth and say "I thought I wasn't your type? Why are you keeping me here?"

"You're not, but your continuous rejections are beginning to get under my skin." He said, his voice becoming clipped.

"So this is more of a wounded pride thing? Seriously? Well I guess giving you a chance might just be out of the question. Good night." I once again dismissed him and turned away from the door.

It didn't take long before I heard the door slam shut behind me. I sighed and walked over to the door that led to my room's balcony. I opened the door and walked outside as I stared up into the night sky. For some reason as I looked up at those stars, I felt jealous. The gorgeous moon shone it's light on earth, and the stars, they were beautiful and free. They were so celestial, I sighed with a smile as the stars twinkled down unto our troubled world.

A movement from my right caused my eyes to shift to the neighboring balcony, where Jaxon stood shirtless, and in a daze. His eyes stared out in the distant, his face solemn. He was deep in thought, that much I knew. He was so far gone, he didn't even notice me. There at that moment Jaxon didn't seem so harsh. The cold mask he usually wears was nowhere in sight, it was interesting to witness him that way, to say no less.

I didn't realize I was staring until his eyes met mine, and thought he took notice of me, he looked away, and escaped back to his room.

That night I laid in bed contemplating my situation.

What was I going to do?

There was no way of escaping, he would hurt anyone that get in his way of keeping me... He made that very clear.

Maybe I should fake fall for him. Spend time with him, pretend to actually fall for him, and manipulate him into letting me go. And once I'd manage to do that, then I could actually escape him, and retake control of my life...

"He kissed me." I clarified.

"You didn't answer my question, did you kiss him?" Asked Stewart his eyes going hard.

"No, I didn't kiss him back, not when he did it the first time, not yesterday, not ever." I defended myself.

"So it happened before? And you didn't tell me?" He asked, his tone getting louder.

"There's no need to get loud, what are you so mad about? Its not like I did anything wrong." I asked and defended myself, though I suddenly felt uncomfortable.

"Get out." Stated Stewart coldly, then he laid down, and closed his eyes dismissing me.

I was still and confused.

What the heck just happened?

"Stewart? What happened? Can you talk to me?" I found myself slightly begging, yet all I received was a huff, as he turned his back on me.

With a sigh, and a shake of my head, I stood up and left quietly. As I walked down the hall, and headed for my room, Sonya caught me in the hall.

"People are not always what they seem. True identities are not always so obvious. Now, go and freshen up, then come join me in the kitchen. I think it's time we had a talk." With those words, Sonya walked away.

I looked after the elderly woman, as she disappeared into the kitchen, and I smiled.
