The Stand In Wife's Revenge novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Ava gasped when I gave her a gentle but startled kiss. As I moved more slowly and intensified the kiss tasting her lips as though this was the only thing that mattered my heart pounded in my chest.

Her hands arched into me hesitant at first then more confident as if she too was giving in to the sensation to the connection we were sharing in that delicate moment. Every inch of my body seemed to react to hers with a surge of heat building up in my chest. Feeling the warmth of her body against mine I pulled her closer as I slid my hands around her back.

There was a sense of urgency and desperation but there was also tenderness and something more profound than simple desire. Her body pressing against mine and her leaning into me as though she couldnt get close enough made it seem like the distance between us had always been too great and too far away but now we were closing it and drawing each other closer in a way I hadnt anticipated.

But then I pulled back a little breathing in short gasps as I tried to gather myself after realizing how far I had let things go. My caution was required. In light of everything that was going on between us I needed to slow down. I wasnt sure how I should respond to it because it had been a very long time since I had allowed myself to feel anything at all.

I drew away and quickly whispered Im sorry feeling a twinge of guilt as I met her eyes. I didnt intend to. I should have. However her hands seized mine and held me motionless stopping me. In that instant I saw herthe woman who had endured so much the one who was still searching for herself but also the one who desired more than what life had given herwhen she gave me a quiet determined look.

Her eyes searched mine begging without words Dont stop she said softly almost urgently. The sincerity of her voice and the vulnerability of her expression made my chest tighten. Her words carried weight and I could sense how much she needed someone or something to help fill the voids in her heart.

And I realized this was more than just desire as she gazed at me and quietly urged me to continue. It had to do with making connections. about us. I leaned in again more cautiously this time and smiled softly as my fingers touched her cheek. I gave her a kiss that contained everything I couldnt talk about or

demonstrate.

The slow intense kiss was tender and full of longing. When she parted her lips beneath mine everything seemed to vanish. Only she was there and I could feel the way her breath blended with mine and her body melted into mine with every kiss as though we were both dismantling the barriers we had spent so

much time erecting.

In order to avoid rushing this and damaging the delicate intimacy that had developed between us I carefully but cautiously lowered her onto the bed.

For a brief moment I stepped back to admire her beauty and the way she gazed at me with longing and trust. With each breath her chest rose and fell and we looked at each other hoping for something we werent sure we could find. She extended her arm tracing the lines of my shirt with her fingers as they moved down my chest.

I felt a shock of heat from the simple touch that I was unable to ignore. I assisted her directing her hands to my shirts buttons and she started to unfasten them while grinning quietly. Her fingers trembled a little as though the gravity of the situation affected her as much as it did me.

She looked at me so intently when I had taken off my shirt that it made my heart skip a beat. Her eyes had depth to them something unvarnished and genuine and I felt vulnerable in a way I wasnt used to. But I didnt feel scared. No not right now. Not with her. She assisted me in getting closer by placins her hands on my back and rubbing my legs against mine as she dragged me down to her.

I approached her slowly my body hovering above hers. The connection and the electricity that ignited between us were the only things that mattered as the outside world dimmed.

No words were required. Every movement kiss and touch was sufficient to convey what we were still able to. I gave her another kiss this time deliberately and slowly. As I gently moved over her body I became familiar with all of its curves and delicate lines.

She sighed quietly in response to each touch and my chest echoed with her quiet gasp. I knew we were both looking for something more than this moment because I could feel the warmth of her skin beneath my fingertips and the way my touch softened her body.

We were trying to find one another. Her hands moved to my pants tentatively at first then with increasing assurance as her fingers brushed the material. As much as I could sense her hesitancy I could also sense her need and desire for this connection.

Even though her touch was hesitant it was sufficient to make me feel warm. She looked at me and met my gaze as I leaned back to give her room to move. Her eyes reflected my own uncertainty and had a question in them.

I didn’t know what this meant or what was going on between us but I did know that we both needed it. Something we were both no longer able to ignore. I assisted in guiding her hands with a gentle almost reverent touch drawing her close once more and giving her a passionate kiss.

She now moved her hands more confidently tracing my skin with her fingers giving me chills. We were both getting better at moving in unison finding a rhythm in the silence and observing how our bodies interacted with one another.
