I curled up on my bed, eyes sharp with frustration. I still couldn’t catch my breath properly from the feeling of his boner against my belly.
‘I won’t sleep!‘ I told myself. Men could not be trusted. He might try something if I fall asleep.
With that thought in mind, I kept my eyes wide open but as minutes dragged on, my eyelids grew heavier with every blink. I jerked my eyes open, just as I started to doze off the clang of the dinner bell startled me. Heart racing, I stared at the wall. Dinner? It was already well past ten. I hadn’t expected dinner so late because we all came back past dinner time.
“Seraphina…” Suddenly Ronan’s whisper entered my ears and my heart jumped out of my chest.
Startled, I tilted my head to find him leaning down to my ear. “W–what?”
“I am hungry,” he whispered.
“Then why are you telling me? Go and eat. It’s not like I am going to serve you or something,” I stated, clutching the blanket tightly around my body.
“Are you not going? I heard your little belly growling earlier…”
My cheeks flushed in embarrassment. How the hell could he hear that kind of thing?! “I am not hungry,” I lied, closing my eyes lazily, “I just want to sleep,”
In reality I was both hungry and tired. I was just too lazy and I chose to sleep.
to go to the cafeteria. I could have only one of them
Ronan stood straight with a deep breath, “Ohh…then you should rest,” saying that he turned around. My brows twitched. How could this man accept defeat so easily? “By the way, I heard they cooked something new for dinner,” he suddenly said, my ears perking up curiously. What was it? I wanted to know! Ronan opened the door and was about to go when he finally finished, “Spiced Mushroom and Truffle Cream Stew with Garlic Butter Rolls,”
I froze. Wait, did he just say…Spiced Mushroom and….
THAT WAS MY FAVORITE!!
I was a second away from sitting up in bed even though I had already said so proudly that I was not hungry!
I lay under the blanket waiting for Ronan to leave. After a couple of seconds, I still did not hear his footsteps leaving. What was he doing? Confused, I remained laying with closed eyes and thankfully after some time, he left.
The moment his footsteps left the corridor, I opened my eyes.
“It must be delicious,” I signed, throwing my legs out from under the blanket, “I should not have said that,” groaning, I rolled on the bed too many times to count until a thunder and lightning struck outside of the window. A second later the lights went out.
I slowly sat up with a groan, “Why now? I am already hungry,” groaning, I waited for the generator to kick in like the other day but it never happened.
Instead my nose caught a strange scent that was not the earthy smell of dust and rain.
“What is that?” my head snapped towards the door and for some reason Phina woke up in my mind. Something felt unsettled and the air felt tight.
My legs carried me out of the room.
Chapter 127 A Scent
The corridor was dim and eerily quiet, save for the sound of my bare feet padding along the cold stone floor. I didn’t know how I got there. One moment I was lying on my bed restless and tense, and the next…I was walking, drawn by something I couldn’t explain.
A scent lingered in the air.
It was thick. Feral. Overwhelming.
My wolf stirred under my skin, restless, like she had picked up a signal and followed it on instinct. My mind was clouded, but not my feet. They moved on their own, deeper into the heart of the Academy where no light touched the corridors.
A part of me wanted to turn around but another part of me that was not in my control wanted to find it out.
That’s when I saw him.
His eyes locked onto me like prey. A low growl rumbled from his throat, his lips curling, pupils blown wide with lust and hunger. My perfume might’ve masked my scent, but his senses were too wild, his instincts too unhinged.
No, no, no-!

His beautiful blue eyes looked deep into my amber once with a strange calmness that I never witnessed in Ryker before. “I should be asking this question to you,” his eyes flicker once on my cheek when I feel hot and then back to my eyes, “You shouldn’t be out here. Especially tonight,” he reached out to softly brush his finger through my sweat rolling down to the side of my face.
I flinched at his cold touch and my breath grew even more uneven, “What is this place?” my voice came out as a whisper, “And why not tonight?”
“It’s a full moon tonight,” my heart dropped in horror, my back touching Ryker’s strong chest as he whispered in my ears from behind, “And you are in the Academy’s Rut room.
“Rut room?” my eyes widened as the wolves started getting closer to me and my body subconsciously slid closer and closer to Ryker’s chest in panic and fear.
