It was considered giving the dean face.
If this were the past, she would have already made herself at home on the couch and dictated the conversation as an equal.
The dean adjusted her glasses. "Juno Mercer?"
"That's me."
"President of Class Three. I've heard about you even before this."
Juno replied with the standard polite script. "I'm honored."
The dean, a middle-aged woman, rested her chin on her hands. "You assaulted a student."
"I did."
"Professor Corrington is a cornerstone of Northbridge University, and also your brother. Once he found out I needed to speak with you, he rushed over here immediately and explained exactly what happened yesterday."
Juno didn't say anything, knowing the dean hadn't finished.
"Paying for the medical bills is a given, and every member of the Student Conduct Board will be replaced. Do you accept this resolution?"
"Whatever you see fit."
Juno kept her hands clasped loosely behind her back. Lucia's eyes narrowed slightly at the sight. Standing like that deliberately exposed vital areas—the throat, stomach, and heart. It was a posture someone only took when they were completely relaxed and utterly certain that nothing in the room posed even a remote threat to them.
She was far too laid back.
She didn't take this dean seriously at all.
Naturally, the dean noticed it too.
"Juno, I know the education you grew up with is vastly different from what the students here receive, but this incident was incredibly severe. Northbridge's reputation took a hit because of your family's recent controversies, and now this."
"And?"
"Don't cause any more trouble."
Saying that directly in front of Sebastian was a blatant demand for the Corrington family to keep her on a tighter leash.
