Felicia followed the sales assistant into Cradle & Co. The woman introduced onesies, baby beanies, and swaddles, suggesting options based on the upcoming season and due date. Looking at the tiny garments, Felicia felt a profound surge of first-time motherly joy, even though she knew she had already given birth to Anne.

Max strolled over to another rack and flipped through a row of baby clothes.

The sales assistant couldn't help but gush to Felicia. "It's rare to see parents preparing clothes this early. It's obvious how much you two love each other. I've never seen such a stunning couple in my life. You look even better than celebrities on television." Judging by their elegant aura and attire, she knew they were far from ordinary.

Felicia offered a gentle smile. "Thank you."

Max walked over with a tiny outfit. "What do you think of these two sets?"

Felicia took a brief look. "Those aren't suitable for a newborn."

"They look nice," Max replied. "We can stockpile them for later."

"There's plenty of time to buy them later," Felicia countered.

"Alright," Max agreed easily. "We'll do as you say."

Felicia selected a few sets of innerwear and a couple of beanies, making sure not to overdo it since it was indeed a bit early. Max paid for the items, grabbed the shopping bags, and held his hand out to her. "Let's go." He intertwined his fingers with hers as they walked out of the boutique.

Coincidentally, they bumped right into Wyatt and Amber's family. Wyatt had taken his wife and child out for a stroll and decided to browse Cradle & Co., a boutique known for catering to an elite clientele. Seeing Max and Felicia hand in hand, and the baby boutique bags in Max's grasp, both Wyatt and Amber froze in surprise.

"Uncle Max, Aunt Felicia," Mandy called out sweetly.

Wyatt broke into a knowing smile. "What a coincidence. Preparing for a second child?"

Max cast a sidelong glance at him. "If she didn’t want to, could I really force her?"

"I'd say that's exactly what happened," Wyatt replied dryly.

Max merely chuckled, offering no further explanation.

Wyatt wasn't surprised. The man was as calculating and manipulative as ever. There was nothing in this world Max wanted that he couldn't get.
