The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1173

Max let out a low chuckle. "If you don't touch now, I won't let you touch later when you actually want to."

Felicia's muffled, indignant voice drifted from beneath the blankets. "Who wants to touch you anyway?"

Max leaned over and wrapped his arms around her, blanket and all. "Are you sure you don't want to?"

Felicia kicked out backwards, her foot connecting with his leg.

Max easily pinned her legs down. "Stop thrashing around. Watch out for our son."

Felicia immediately froze. "Then let go of me."

"Do you want to touch or not?" Max persisted.

Felicia whipped her head around to glare at him. "Max, are you just a complete pervert?"

The warm glow of the overhead light spilled over his features, casting a soft, golden halo across his brow and eyes. In that instant, it felt as though the entire world had faded away, leaving nothing but that gentle, amber light and the subtle, elegant scent of frost that always clung to him. The corners of his lips quirked into a devastating smile, his voice deep and magnetic. "Maybe just a little."

Felicia stared at him, utterly captivated. As their eyes locked, the frantic energy in the room evaporated into a heavy, charged silence. Max's gaze slowly dropped to her slightly parted, pink lips. She watched him lean down, moving agonizingly slow. There was no escape.

Just then, the crisp click of the bedroom door echoing through the quiet room shattered the moment. Max halted a hairsbreadth away from her lips. He turned his head just in time to see a fluffy little head peek through the crack.

"Dad, Mom," Anne chirped.

Felicia's foggy mind instantly cleared, and she shoved Max away. He calmly adjusted his clothes, sitting up straight.

The expert had thoroughly reviewed Felicia's case beforehand. After conducting a preliminary examination, he attempted a specialized hypnotherapy session. However, when Felicia opened her eyes, she felt absolutely no difference. If anything, her mind felt even blanker than before.

The specialist explained that due to her pregnancy, she couldn't undergo any aggressive machine-based therapies. Since her amnesia wasn't the result of physical brain trauma, his best advice was to let nature take its course. She might suddenly remember everything one day, or she might not. If her memories didn't return after giving birth, they could explore brainwave therapy then.

Listening to the prognosis, Felicia had little room to argue. She had no choice but to accept the recommendation.

Seeing the undeniable disappointment etched on her face, Max gently squeezed her hand. "You'll remember eventually. Right now, taking care of your health and the baby is more important than anything else."

Felicia looked at him, offering no reply.

After leaving the hospital, Max drove Felicia and Anne toward the Ross family's residence, making a quick stop at a high-end shopping center to pick up an array of gifts along the way.
