Felicia nodded.
“Does Anne suspect anything about you?” Colton asked.
Felicia shook her head softly. “She’s still too young. She doesn’t really understand yet.”
Anne could sense that things weren’t right between her and her dad, but she didn’t get all the complicated stuff between adults. She didn’t know Felicia was her mother, but she wanted her to be.
At dinner, Greg still hadn’t come home.
Felicia asked, “Is Greg not coming back for dinner tonight?”
Ava answered, “He’s busy at work today. He has to stay late. Let’s just eat.”
“Alright.”
Since Anne had napped for so long in the afternoon, she didn’t get tired until ten. Before bed, she video called Max.
Felicia went downstairs to get herself a glass of milk and saw Greg just getting home. “Greg, you’re only just back? Was work that busy today?”
Greg let out a tired sound. “Yeah, had some stuff come up. Heather told me Yara and Anne got into a fight at school. Is Anne alright?”
Anne was Max’s daughter, after all. There was no way she’d let herself get bullied.
Felicia and Heather watched the kids playing in the yard. Seeing Anne so happy made Felicia’s heart feel warm.
Heather said, “I was going to have Jeremy drive me over today, but something happened at work for him. It’s something about BlueMarble Investments. I asked, but he just told me I wouldn’t get it. You know this stuff, Felicia. Why don’t you give him a call?”
Felicia started to worry too. Jeremy hadn’t mentioned anything about it yesterday. She pulled out her phone and called him. He picked up right away.
“Hi, Heather said there’s some trouble at your company. What’s going on?”

I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
