“Felicia!”

Felicia blinked, snapping out of her thoughts. She turned and saw Anthony climbing out of his car.

Darin was about to walk into the lobby when he heard her name. He paused and glanced back over his shoulder.

Anthony spotted him and leaned in quietly to Felicia. “Let’s go say hi.” It was the polite thing to do, after all.

They walked over together. Anthony reached out first, offering his hand. “Mr. Foxhall, good to see you.”

Darin shook his hand, his tone even. “Good to see you.”

He didn’t look surprised in the slightest. His handsome face was as calm as ever, not giving away a single thought.

They didn’t linger. Just a few polite words and then they each made their way into the lobby.

Felicia and Anthony waited there for someone to take them upstairs. Felicia’s eyes followed Darin as he walked away. “Looks like Darin already knows about Roen Capital working with Jim.”

Anthony nodded. “He’s definitely known for a while. The Curtis family and Darin, neither of them is willing to give an inch. They’re not fighting openly yet, but there’s barely anything left holding them back.”

“All it’ll take is one person to break the tension,” Felicia said, almost to herself.

“Yeah. That’s all it takes.”

A few minutes later, Jim’s assistant appeared. “Sorry to keep you waiting. Please follow me.”

Darin clearly saw this coming. That’s why he grabbed Sunlight Tech first, as the next step toward Greenway. His planning was almost scary. But that’s what you’d expect from someone who could be friends with Max.

Both Darin and Jim were tough opponents. Greenway was just another piece in their chess game. That’s why Greenway couldn’t be bought out, and absolutely couldn’t have any ties to the Curtis family.

Anthony steered the conversation away from artificial intelligence, focusing instead on the other industrial investments. Jim picked up on it and didn’t push.

They talked for more than two hours, finally wrapping things up around four in the afternoon.

Tomorrow, they had plans to visit the Lakeside District and see how the project was coming along.

That evening, Jim invited them to dinner.
