The parade finally ended and the crowds thinned out. Max let go of Felicia’s wrist and gently set Anne back on her feet. Anne had just seen her dad holding Evelynn’s hand. She grinned. “Daddy held Evelynn’s hand.”
Max ruffled her hair, his voice soft. “Now I’m going to hold Anne’s hand.”
“Okay.”
Max took Anne’s tiny hand in his. Anne reached out for Felicia’s hand and smiled up at her, all teeth and sunshine. Just seeing her so happy made Felicia’s worries melt away. They walked together, Anne in the middle, holding both their hands. Their good looks caught plenty of attention as they strolled along.
Anne noticed other kids with their parents, but now there wasn’t a hint of envy in her eyes. When people glanced their way, her little face shone with pride.
Night fell and the fireworks show began. A photographer from the park came over to snap a picture for them. Max lifted Anne into his arms, and Anne said, “Daddy, you have to hold Evelynn’s hand.” Felicia started to say something, but a big, warm hand closed over hers. She glanced at Max but kept quiet. The moment the first firework burst in the sky, the photographer captured them, a family of three glowing under the sparkling lights.
Anne was worn out from all the excitement. She barely made it into the car before falling asleep against Felicia. Max drove home slowly. Felicia cradled Anne, looking out the window at the city lights flickering by. The car was silent. Neither of them spoke.
When they pulled up to the villa, a bright red Ferrari was parked out front. Max eased the car into the underground garage, parked, and looked at Felicia. “I’ll carry Anne.” Felicia stayed still.
Felicia stopped at the railing and looked down. In the living room, Andrea hugged Max, her head on his shoulder, her eyes red and full of tears. Through her crying, she looked up and spotted Felicia. In that instant, all the jealousy and hatred Andrea felt was plain to see.
Max noticed the change in Andrea’s gaze and turned to look up at Felicia. She stood there, phone in hand, recording the scene below.
Their eyes met. Felicia lowered her phone and started down the stairs, calm and unhurried. Andrea couldn’t take her eyes off her. The way Felicia carried herself, the confidence in her every step and look, it was clear who the real lady of the house was.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max)
Nothing today...
The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
I am waiting for the update, thank you uploader we reader enjoying the story...
Finally! The robot Max is turning into a human....
The longer it takes to update chapters, the faster I lose my interest. Time to find another novel to indulge to, I guess....
