“Alright, be safe,” Jeremy said. “Text me when you get to the Capital.”
“Okay.”
By five in the morning, Felicia was already at the airport. After checking in, she found her seat in business class, leaned back, and closed her eyes, hoping to catch a little rest.
She felt someone settle into the seat next to hers but didn’t bother to look. She kept her eyes shut until the flight attendant came around with breakfast. Only then did she open her eyes, and that’s when she realized the man beside her was Darin.
He caught her surprised stare and offered a polite, easy smile. “Hi Evelynn.”
Felicia quickly smoothed out her expression. She accepted the breakfast tray from the attendant and ate quietly, making it clear she had no interest in small talk.
Darin didn’t push. He turned his attention to his laptop, working through most of the two-hour flight. Felicia stayed quiet, resting.
The plane touched down at the airport right on schedule, just before nine. Darin stood and grabbed his laptop. Felicia got up too.
All of a sudden, her boarding pass slipped out of her bag and fell to the floor. As she bent to pick it up, she noticed Darin glancing back, his eyes landing on her ticket and the name printed there.
Felicia straightened, catching him looking at her. “Is there something you need, Mr. Foxhall?”
He gave a faint, easy smile. “No, not at all.”
Once they left the plane, Darin and his secretary moved ahead and disappeared into the crowd.
Felicia switched her phone out of airplane mode and found several missed calls from Anne and one from Max. She’d sent Anne a quick message before boarding, but clearly that hadn’t been enough.
As she walked out, she called Anne back.
Anne picked up right away, her voice shaky and thick with tears. “Mommy…”
Listening to all this, Felicia felt her mood sink lower and lower.
When it was over, the judge said the verdict would be announced another day.
Felicia stepped outside and spotted a familiar Rolls-Royce parked by the curb.
The door opened as soon as she appeared.
Max got out and walked straight toward her, acting like he didn’t even notice the stormy look on her face. He stopped right in front of her.
“Come on. Get in the car.”
From the outside, nobody would guess they were a couple on the edge of divorce.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max)
Nothing today...
The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
I am waiting for the update, thank you uploader we reader enjoying the story...
Finally! The robot Max is turning into a human....
The longer it takes to update chapters, the faster I lose my interest. Time to find another novel to indulge to, I guess....
