Heather picked up her phone and texted Jeremy right away.

Jeremy had just finished a work call when her message popped up. He texted back, [Got it.]

He put his phone down and glanced over at Felicia. She was at the railing, completely focused on building a tiny snowman.

He walked over and checked out her creation. A smile played on his lips. “That’s definitely… a unique look.”

Felicia let out a frosty breath. “You can just call it weird, you know.”

Jeremy grinned and started tweaking the snowman, adding two little twigs for arms.

Felicia bent down and poked its belly. “Okay, now it actually looks a bit like a snowman.”

Jeremy’s eyes softened as he watched her. “Want to take a picture with it?”

She nodded. “Sure.”

Felicia crouched down a bit, posing with her hand just under the snowman’s belly.

Jeremy stepped back, found a good angle, and snapped a photo. Then he flagged down a passerby and asked them to take a picture of the two of them together.

When they were done, Jeremy thanked the stranger, took back his phone, and showed Felicia the pics. “What do you think?”

Felicia leaned in, looking at the photos as Jeremy scrolled through them. “These turned out great. Jeremy, you could seriously be a photographer.”

He laughed. “Am I really that good?”

Felicia looked up at him, her lips curling into a smile. “I’m just telling it like it is.”

“Well, maybe I should start a side gig.”

“With your status, I’m not sure most people could even afford you.”

Jeremy winked. “Don’t worry. If you ever want a photo shoot, it’s on the house.”

Felicia burst out laughing.

“I’ll take these photos for free, then.”

Jeremy sent all the pictures to her phone.

Luke thought it over. If he went up the mountain, Felicia would probably feel awkward. “Let’s just skip it. There’ll be another chance.”

Greg nodded.

He figured Jeremy showing up was probably Heather’s idea. He could tell what she was trying to do.

Jeremy and Luke were both great choices for Felicia. But Greg couldn’t help but hope she’d choose Luke. They had known each other forever. Luke had waited so many years for her.

If it weren’t for that accident back then, maybe they’d already be together.

But life doesn’t work with what ifs.

There were things Greg couldn’t say out loud. All he could do was feel a bit of quiet regret.

Felicia’s future would have to wait until she got divorced.
