“We’ve got a housekeeper looking after things,” Darin said quietly. “I’ll have someone book your flight soon.”
He started heading for the stairs.
Suddenly Andrea’s voice broke through, shaky and desperate. “I’m not going back!” She rushed forward and grabbed his arm, holding on tight. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at him. “Please, let me stay. I want to take care of you. I just want to be with you. I know you don’t like going back to the Curtis house, but no matter what, you’ll always be my family. You’re the closest person I have.”
Usually, whenever she sounded this upset, Darin would give in to whatever she wanted.
But this time, he just looked tired, his voice distant. “That’s enough, Andrea. Stop it.”
“Darin…” she whispered, but he didn’t turn back.
He kept walking up the stairs, leaving Andrea standing there, lost and confused.
She stared after him, watching his cold silhouette disappear. Her legs started to shake, and before she could catch herself, she collapsed.
Max stepped forward just in time to catch her.
Andrea leaned against him, her shoulders shaking as she started to cry. “Max, what happened? Does he not want me anymore?”
Max looked down at her, his voice even. “You should listen to your brother. Go back to Northwick.”
Andrea shook her head, clinging to him. “I don’t want to. Please, Max, help me. I don’t want to leave. I don’t want him to be here all alone. I just want to stay with him.”
Before Max could answer, his phone started to buzz. He helped Andrea over to the sofa, glanced at the screen, and walked toward the door.
“Max!” Andrea called, grabbing his wrist.
He turned, meeting her eyes. “I have something to take care of. I have to go.”
He gently pulled his hand free and stepped outside.
Andrea could only watch as he left, her hands curled into fists, anger growing inside her.
It was obvious now. Darin already knew about Felicia.
Why did Felicia get to take everything from her?
Max laughed quietly. “Okay, I’ll do my best. Be good at Mommy’s house today, alright?”
“I’m always good. Are you coming over today, Daddy?”
“Not today. I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”
“Okay... Take good care of Uncle Darin, Daddy.”
“I will.”
He ended the call and got into the car.
Jeremy really didn’t waste any time coming back.
“Let’s go,” he told the driver.
The engine started and they slowly pulled away.

I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off.
