"Yeah, she's upstairs with Anne."
The two of them exchanged a few words.
Darin said his goodbyes and was about to head out.
Colton spoke up suddenly. "Darin, when are you going to tell her?"
In the dim light, Darin caught a hint of sadness in his father's eyes. He pressed his lips together, thinking for a moment. "When the time feels right. For now, Dad, please keep it to yourself."
Colton let out a sigh. "I know none of this was ever what you wanted."
A wave of guilt crashed over Darin. He forced himself to keep steady. "Thanks, Dad. That means more than you know."
"Are you staying in the Capital for the holiday this year?"
Darin nodded. "Yeah, I am."
Colton managed a small smile. "That's good."
As Darin got into his car, Greg's car pulled up. Darin saw him but looked away, starting the engine and pulling off.
Greg rolled down his window. "Hi, Colton."
Colton nodded at him. "Go on inside. Your mom's made your favorite."
Greg gave a simple nod, not asking anything else, and drove toward the underground garage. Colton turned and walked back into the villa.
Through the rearview mirror, Darin watched as his father's expression turned gentle and Greg's car slipped into the garage. Soon, both of them were out of sight.
Darin suddenly pulled his own car to a stop, sitting there alone in the shadows, shoulders tense and heavy.
He stayed like that for a while.
Eventually, he collected himself, started the car again, and drove off.
He parked at an upscale club and walked into a private room.
Inside, Max was just hanging up a call. He picked up a bottle of red wine and poured Darin a glass.
Darin cleared his throat. "Got any plans for the break?"
"How about racing tomorrow?" Max said.
Darin nodded. "Felicia's taking Anne to Santa Monica, so nobody's around to keep an eye on you."
Max took a slow sip of wine and just smiled. "You not going home?"
"Nothing worth going back for."
Max didn't push.
Later, Anne called Max, going over a long list of things for him to remember. Max could only agree to everything she said.
That night, Yvonne called Darin several more times, but he didn't answer even once.
For some people, sleep just wasn't in the cards.
The next morning at nine, Greg drove Felicia and Anne to the airport.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max)
Nothing today...
The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
I am waiting for the update, thank you uploader we reader enjoying the story...
Finally! The robot Max is turning into a human....
The longer it takes to update chapters, the faster I lose my interest. Time to find another novel to indulge to, I guess....
