Before they headed home, Felicia and Heather made a serious dent in the airport duty-free shops. It was the holiday and gifts were a must.
When they landed back in the Capital, it was already three in the afternoon. The city looked like a celebration come to life, dazzling lights hanging high overhead, every street soaked in that happy holiday energy.
First stop was Oakridge Estate. Felicia had brought gifts for Jeremy and Shannon.
Shannon smiled when she opened hers. “Felicia, you’re always so thoughtful. Thank you, I really love it.”
Felicia’s smile was soft. “I’m glad you do, Shannon.”
Jeremy, nursing an injury, had decided to stay in the Capital this year for the celebrations. No traveling, no hassle.
Heather agreed, throwing in a dramatic nod of support.
While Heather went off to her room and Shannon found some snacks for Yara, Felicia leaned closer to Jeremy. “Is there any news about Jett?”
Jeremy nodded. “He’s in the holding center now. After a few days of questioning, he took the blame for everything. Never mentioned anyone else behind it.”
Felicia frowned a little, twisting her fingers. “But there is someone else, right?”
Jeremy’s voice dropped. “Word from the States is that Holden’s definitely involved.”
Felicia's jaw tightened. She wasn’t surprised. Holden had every reason to pull something like this.
She hesitated. “And Trey—”
Before she could finish, Yara trotted over and pressed a piece of candy into Felicia’s hand. “Aunt Felicia, have some candy.”
Felicia smiled and took it, letting the questions go for now.
It was about time to leave.
Shannon tried to keep her for dinner. Felicia shook her head gently. “Maybe next time. I should get home.”

I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
