How on earth did Evelynn manage to land Max Hawthorne?
Was it before or after the child was born?
And what was the deal with Max and Andrea before all this?
Speculation was rampant, but the most believable theory was that Evelynn had used the baby to climb the social ladder. Since she came from an unremarkable family, their relationship had been kept under wraps. Now that the child was older and Evelynn had proven herself and earned the Hawthorne family’s approval through her own efforts, Max had personally announced their marriage. It seemed Evelynn had finally secured her position.
But there was a complication. Evelynn was also the Director of Investments at Roen Capital, with deep ties to Jeremy Milman. They had been seen acting unusually close in public on several occasions.
Based on earlier rumors, their relationship didn't seem like a simple professional one.
Could it be that Evelynn and Jeremy really were having a secret affair?
Was Max’s public announcement a way of staking his claim?
This love triangle, especially involving two of the most eligible bachelors, Max and Jeremy, was a shock to all the heiresses and socialites who had hoped to marry one of them.
Now, both men were entangled with the same woman. How could anyone not be shocked, jealous, and a little envious? And to top it off, Evelynn had also been linked to Luke in the past.
This woman was truly something else.
As for Evelynn’s family background, not a whisper could be found.
No one dared to dig too deep into these speculations, so they only discussed them in private.
Of course, their opinions of Felicia were hardly flattering.
Some of this gossip inevitably reached the ears of the Hawthorne family.
Tatiana, in particular, felt utterly humiliated. She now refused to leave the house, wanting to go nowhere.
After Miranda left, Daniel looked at Max. "Was this an impulsive decision or a well-considered one?"
"Of course I thought it through," Max replied.
The scandal was huge.
It wouldn't be easy to resolve quickly.
Jeremy’s face was grim. "The key is what Felicia decides to do."
"You haven't contacted her in the last two days?"
"Let her have a few days to rest and calm down. She needs time to think. There’s no need to pressure her right now."
Anthony nodded. "Felicia is the one suffering the most right now."
Just then, the intercom buzzed.
"Mr. Milman, a Mr. Foxhall is here to see you."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max)
Nothing today...
The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off.
