Felicia gave a soft hum. "Some urgent work came up."
She didn't have the energy to drive herself, so she had the estate's chauffeur drive her out.
Watching Felicia leave, Olisha felt a wave of worry. She used the landline in the villa to call Max, and the call was quickly answered.
"Mr. Hawthorne," Olisha began, "Evelynn just left for work, but she hasn't fully recovered yet."
Listening to Olisha, Max replied in a deep voice, "Alright."
Sitting in the back of the car, Felicia tried to read the interview materials on her screen. In the past, she could skim through lines in seconds, but now, even a simple paragraph took her a long time to process. The motion of the car only made her head spin more.
She finally gave up, deciding to wait until she reached the office to finish reading.
The chauffeur noticed her discomfort through the rearview mirror and asked with concern, "Madam, are you feeling okay?"
Hearing him call her Madam, Felicia could not help but freeze for a moment. She brushed it off and said, "I am fine. Just drive a little faster."
Traffic wasn't too heavy at this hour.
Half an hour later, the car slowly pulled to a stop.
Felicia remained in the car, spending another ten minutes or so briefly skimming the rest of the files.
Right on cue, she received a call from Colt.
"I am coming up right now," she told him.
Before getting out of the car, Felicia took another dose of medicine.
She headed upstairs. When she finally laid eyes on today's interview subject, Felicia froze in her tracks.

The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
