The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 739

Just then, the suite door opened.

The people outside walked in.

Holden had his hands in his pockets, walking ahead with a nonchalant expression. He was followed by two bodyguards. They weren't protecting him. They were bringing him here.

Holden walked over and sat opposite Max. He picked up the wine bottle, poured himself a glass of red wine, and said, "You really didn't need such a grand procession to invite me over."

Max's dark eyes were cold, completely devoid of warmth as he stared at him. He parted his lips and spoke in a deep voice, "How long were you planning to keep those photos?"

Holden met the man's chilling gaze, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. "Max, do you actually care or not?"

Max did not answer his question, merely giving a look to the bodyguards behind him.

The bodyguards understood. Just as they took a step forward.

Holden raised his hand, looked at Max, and said, "If you want it, I'll give it to you."

With that said, he put down his wine glass, pulled his phone from his jacket, unlocked it, and pushed it across the table to Max. Max connected the phone to a laptop, tracing all linked accounts. The photos on the phone had already been deleted, and no connected accounts contained any backups.

Max handed the laptop to a thin man standing nearby. He was a tech specialist for BlueMarble Investments and a former top-tier international hacker.

The tech specialist sat on a stool, his fingers flying across the keyboard.

Twenty minutes later.

"Mr. Hawthorne, there are no photos of Mrs. Hawthrone."

Max narrowed his eyes at Holden.

Holden remained composed and smiled faintly. "I certainly couldn't wait until you came looking for me to delete them. Now you can rest easy."

Max's voice was low and cold. "So how exactly did you manage to save the photos from Jeremy?"

Holden said, "I employed a bit of technical skill, of course." He then let out a light sigh. "Alas, I really just wanted to make a deal with you, Max. But since you are so resolute, there's nothing I can do."

"Holden, you had better not try any tricks with me." The tone was a clear, threatening warning.

"Here? How would I dare play tricks with you here."

They went to the dining room.

Olisha and the nanny brought the dinner to the table. There was still a little bit of the cured beef and sausages Felicia had brought back today.

"Daddy, try this," Anne urged.

Max picked up a slice of sausage, tasted it, and said, "It's quite good." He asked Felicia, "Where did you buy it?"

Felicia simply replied, "Someone sent it to me."

Anne kept her father company for a little while, then said to her mother, "Mommy, you keep Daddy company while he eats. I'm going back to my room."

Before Felicia could say anything, Anne turned and took Olisha's hand. "Olisha, come help me with my bath."

Anne left.

Leaving only Felicia and Max in the dining room.
