The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 748

"What do you need?" she asked.

Max's tone remained perfectly level. "There is a banquet. I need you to attend with me."

Felicia hesitated. "We can talk about it when the day comes."

Anne looked at her pleadingly. "Mommy, please go with Daddy to the banquet."

Felicia looked down at Anne, letting out a helpless sigh. "I will go if I have time."

"Then Mommy absolutely must have time."

Felicia patted her head gently. "Alright, sweetie. Go to school with Daddy now. You cannot be late."

"Then I will come keep Mommy company after school."

"Okay, go on."

Max led Anne out of the Ross family home.

After the father and daughter left, Felicia returned to her chat with Dean.

As they chatted casually, Darin learned she was resting at home due to feeling unwell. The conversation drifted to her child, and Felicia sent him a photo of Anne.

Looking at the picture, Darin replied, "She is absolutely cute."

Felicia answered, "Yes, she really is. Very adorable."

From her messages, Darin could easily feel her deep love for Anne.

Anne was indeed a wonderful child.

Felicia’s parents had divorced early, meaning the mother had not been able to stay by her daughter's side. Deep down, Felicia probably did not want Anne to grow up exactly like her.

But at the same time, he hated seeing Felicia emotionally drained like this.

Making Max yield was incredibly difficult.

Darin refrained from asking too many questions about her marriage and romantic feelings.

Felicia had no intention of bringing it up either.

Their conversations consisted entirely of showing each other the best parts of their lives.

Felicia did not chat for much longer, not wanting to disturb his work.

At that moment, he received another call regarding business.

After finishing the work discussion, the person on the other end began making small talk. "Holden was hospitalized a couple of days ago. Word is he offended Max. Do you know what happened, Darin? Do they not have a partnership overseas?"

Holden had attended a gathering hosted by someone else that night, so everyone present had seen him leave with Max's bodyguards. Naturally, no one knew exactly what the conflict was, but curiosity was running high.

This was the first Darin had heard of the incident. "I have not been in the Capital, so I am not too clear on the details."

"I see." The caller did not pry further.

After the call ended, Darin contacted Max directly to ask about the situation.

Max replied smoothly, "No special reason. He just needed to be taught a lesson."

Since Max clearly did not want to elaborate, Darin let it drop.

Meanwhile, Max dropped Anne off at her kindergarten.

"Bye, Daddy," Anne said, waving her little hand.

Max waved back at her.
