The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 753

It was all she could do.

"Alright," the nurse replied.

"Felicia."

Felicia turned around to see Jeremy and the others walking toward her.

"Jeremy, are you okay?"

"I am fine," Jeremy assured her. "What happened here?"

Felicia breathed a sigh of relief and briefly explained the situation.

They had seen this kind of tragedy far too often. The battle for capital dominance was always this ruthlessly cruel.

"You have done everything you could. Do not carry this burden with you, Felicia. Do not overthink it," Jeremy advised gently.

Felicia hummed in agreement. "I know."

Savannah voiced her clear annoyance. "Max really knows how to drag trouble to your doorstep."

If their relationship had not been made public, none of this would have had anything to do with Felicia. Watching that desperate scene earlier had truly been gut-wrenching.

Once the food delivery arrived, Felicia asked the nurse to take it inside the ward.

"Let us get going. We should finally get some dinner," Anthony suggested.

News of the massive crash on Chancery Road quickly dominated the local headlines.

Max was still at the office working.

Just then, Isaac knocked and walked in.

"What is it?"

"Mr. Hawthorne, there was a major traffic accident near Roen Capital," Isaac reported.

When Anne had called Max earlier, Isaac had been standing right there reporting on work. He also knew Felicia had ignored his boss's call.

So, when he saw the news footage, he instantly wondered if something had happened to her. Spotting someone who looked exactly like Felicia in the video, he rushed in to report it.

Hearing this, Max's hand froze over his documents.

"Here is the footage from the news report."

Isaac stepped forward and handed over his phone.

Along the way, Savannah could not help but complain on her behalf again.

"I suddenly think staying unmarried is perfectly fine. My parents have given up on me anyway. I am perfectly happy and free right now."

"Being alone is honestly really nice."

Being alone meant zero pressure from marriage or emotional entanglements.

Truthfully, eighty percent of a woman's misery in life stemmed from marriage.

If given the choice, she would much rather be completely alone too.

By the time she returned to Oakridge Estate, Anne had already fallen asleep.

Olisha stepped out of Anne's room. "Evelynn, you are back. You look pale. Are you feeling okay?"

"I am fine. I will go check on Anne," Felicia replied.

Olisha stepped aside.

Felicia pushed the door open and stayed with Anne for a little while.

As she walked out of the room, she ran straight into Max, who had just returned.
