An older society lady stepped in to smooth things over. "Today is Mr. Tate's birthday banquet. We are all family here, so let us not argue. Kate, you should take her to get changed first."
Mrs. Tate hurried over as well, doing her best to calm everyone down.
Since it was Mr. Tate's birthday, Mrs. Miller couldn’t make a scene here.
Her face pale with fury, Mrs. Miller led Lindsey away.
"Felicia," Luke said gently. "Let us go get you changed."
Felicia did not look well, but she kept her silence.
"Come on, Felicia," Kate said. "I will go with you."
They headed up to the second floor lounge.
A maid quickly brought over a fresh set of clothes.
"Go ahead and change. I will wait outside," Kate said, handing the clothes over.
Felicia took them.
As soon as Kate stepped out, Felicia's phone buzzed. Seeing an unknown number, she answered it. "Hello."
Dannie's voice came through the receiver. "Evelynn. Mr. Hawthorne accompanied Miss Curtis to the hospital. He might not make it there today."
"Could he not tell me himself?" Felicia replied coldly. "Does he really need you to pass on the message?"
"If you do not believe me, Evelynn, you can call him yourself. I will not bother you anymore." Dannie hung up.
Felicia sat silently on the sofa, her expression profoundly dark.
A moment later, her phone chimed with a text. It was a photo from Dannie.
The picture had been taken through the glass window of a hospital room door. It showed a man's silhouette standing beside a hospital bed, though his expression was obscured.
Knock, knock.
"Felicia, are you done?"
Felicia snapped out of her daze and set her phone aside. "Just a minute."

The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
