The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 809

"Having a baby is very hard work," Anne replied thoughtfully. "Mommy is sick right now, so she cannot have one yet. We have to wait until Mommy wants to give me a little sibling, then she can."

Amber turned to look at Felicia, who was watching Anne with a soft, deeply affectionate smile. Finding no trace of any other complicated emotions on Felicia's face, Amber sighed warmly. "Anne really knows how to care for people. Having such a smart and understanding child is truly a blessing for any parent."

Felicia met Amber's gaze and smiled gently. "It really is."

Just then, Felicia's phone rang. It was her father, Colton.

"Hello, Dad."

"Felicia, Ava mentioned that she is taking you to the clinic again tomorrow. You should just come stay at the house tonight," Colton's voice sounded through the receiver.

During her visit to Hartford the day before, Dr. Chelsea’s daughter had helped connect them with a specialist based right here in the Capital.

"Alright," Felicia agreed.

When she hung up, Amber looked over curiously. "Are you heading back to your parents' house tonight?"

Felicia nodded in agreement. "I have some matters to attend to tomorrow."

"Why do you not stay and have dinner with us first?" Amber suggested. "Heading back after we eat should not make you too late."

"That sounds fine. I will head back after dinner."

Around five o'clock, Max called. Knowing that Amber and Kate were visiting, he said, "Stay and keep them company for dinner. I will wrap up my work and come home as early as I can."

"I am going back to my family's house tonight," Felicia informed him flatly.

"Why the sudden change of plans?" Max asked.

"However," Amber continued, "two adults sleeping together does not automatically equal a solid emotional foundation. They do not have deep financial ties anchoring them either. If they are just holding things together for Anne's sake, their future is still incredibly unstable. We will just have to see where fate takes them."

Kate sighed deeply. "Who could have ever predicted that Max would willingly swallow his pride to reconcile with a wife he used to despise? If Felicia knows what is good for her and learns when to stop pushing, things might turn out fine. The real danger is if she gets greedy and demands too much. Knowing Max, he will not tolerate being manipulated."

Back at the estate, Felicia finished packing a small bag. Anne's health had vastly improved, and she was scheduled to return to kindergarten the next day, so Felicia had no intention of dragging her along. After giving Anne some gentle instructions, the little girl obediently waved goodbye to her mother.

Meanwhile, over at Pinecrest Villas, Dannie's car slowly pulled up to the residential complex. She took the elevator up and rang the doorbell. A maid opened the door, and Dannie slipped on some guest slippers before walking into the living room, where Tatiana was seated.

"Aunt Tatiana," Dannie greeted warmly.

Tatiana slowly set her teacup down and looked up with a welcoming smile. "Dannie, you are here. Come, sit."

Dannie handed a lavish gift bag to the maid and walked over to take a seat beside Tatiana on the plush sofa.
