Between Danger 

HANNAH’S POV: 

I couldn’t explain it, wasn’t something I could see, just something I felt. Like a shadow at the corner of my vision. Every time I turned, I saw nothing out of place. Just families, couples, teenagers with drinks and snacks. 

Still, my stomach tightened and suddenly I felt vibration in my bag and it was my phone ringing and I smiled feeling at ease for a split second when I saw it was Lucas calling. 

“Hello beautiful. I hear noises so you must have gone to amusement park, right?” He askeed and I nodded frantically as though he could see me. 

“Yes, and how are you? You seem to be in cloud nine.” I pointed out seeing as he had taken a break off and I had been seeing him post pictures of beautiful views. 

I glanced at the kids who were enjoying their cotton candy while taking a short break from the running and recharging their energy, “Girl, I am. Just as I have taken these break and feel at ease, when I return I encourage you to do the same. You worked tirelessly on those gowns and there’s a beautiful piece by THE FASHION MAGAZINE, that was just uploaded about you and they are just give you your flowers.” 

I grinned from ear to ear and raised my eyebrow, “Really?” 

He hummed and said, “I’m so proud of you and I’m so glad no one cares about what was posted about you last week.” 

No one seemed to care about the fact that Elijah’s declaration to me at the Governor’s party was uploaded, or maybe they did and I was just busy to dig around and find out. Either way, life was going great and I was happy. 

“Thank you, at the end of the day, nothing would have been possible without you. So continue to enjoy your time with Martin and I’m going to enjoy my time with the kids.” I rushed to say, making him burst out laughing. 

“I just knew you and Maya have been talking. Well, I’m living my life and I will give you all the dets later. Love you girl.” He said all at once and we shared a laugh in between and I responded ‘Love you too’ 

The kids also chorused, “Bye Uncle Lucas.”
