The Verdict on My Husband the Judge: GUILTY novel Chapter 38

Chapter 7

Lin jammed the gun against Cade’s temple.

Cade’s face went from smug to ghostwhite in half a second.

Linare you insane? I just handed you a hundredmilliondollar deal in North District!

Hundred million?Lin slammed a document into Cade’s chest. Read it!

Cade scrambled to pick it up. His hands shook as he scanned the page.

North District development suspended due to zoning changes.

That meant the land wasworthless!

Cade and Lin had just bought a hundredmilliondollar pile of dirt.

Cade’s face drained of color.

He stared at me like I’d just risen from the dead.

Youyou did this?!

I smiled. Slow. Cold.

The city had always wanted West District. But the key plot? That was where my family was buried.

I’d refused to move them. So they changed their plans.

But after Cade pushed me to the edge, I realized something:

The dead don’t need my loyalty. The living do.

So I made a deal with the city.

I’d move the graves. In exchange, West District would be mine.

North District became a ghost town overnight.

And to thank the Winters family for our sacrifice?

The city gave us full control of the West District project.

Lin wasn’t done.

Cade couldn’t block the hits.

He shoved Vivienne asidestill screamingand scrambled backward on his hands and knees.

After the fifth punch, I stepped between them.

Lin studied me, eyes narrowed. Calculating.

San. This bastard ruined you. And you’re still protecting him?

On the floor, Cade looked up at me.

Blood dripped from his nose. Hope flickered in his eyes.

I shook my head slowly.

Mr. Lin, I know you have proof he leaked trade secrets. Give it to me.

Lin tilted his head. What’s in it for me?

West District. The Winters family would be happy to have the Lins as partners.

Lin stared at me for a long moment.

Then he laughed loudly.

San Winters, I fucking respect you. You’ve got a deal. I’ll send the files over tonight.

He turned and walked out, his men following.

Cade crawled toward me, blood dripping from his nose.

He grabbed the hem of my dress like it was a lifeline.

Santhank you. Thank you for saving me. I knew you still red-

Felix kicked him off hard.

I brushed off the spot where he’d touched me. Like wiping of dirt.

Still dreaming, Cade? I gave Lin that deal because the Winters family can’t handle West District alone. As for your evidence

I’m going to put you in prison myself.

NoSan, please! She seduced me! I still love you!

Cadewhat the fuck are you saying?! You told me I was your princess!

Oh, princess?Felix tossed a stack of photos onto the floor.

They scattered at Cade’s feet.

Vivienne. With different men. At different hotels.

Cade’s face twisted.

He snatched up one of the photos, staring at it like it had burned him.

You bitch. You were fucking around behind my back?!

He backhanded her. Hard. She hit the floor.

His eyes filled with disgust.

Vivienne clutched her face, spitting blood.

But she laughed.

I thought you were so fucking smart. Turns out you’re just a puppet. San played you from the start.
