The Verdict on My Husband the Judge: GUILTY novel Chapter 69

An adorable young man had been pursuing me with relentless enthusiasm latelyexactly my type.

I decided to experiment with dating him. If we could create a child together, that wouldn’t be terrible either.

Somehow Kieran discovered my romantic plans.

He very seriously recommended himself as the superior candidate.

I’m intellectually giftedour offspring would be exceptionally intelligent.

I’m aesthetically pleasing toothe baby definitely wouldn’t be unfortunatelooking.

Most importantly, I’m not pursuing you for financial gain.

I hesitated, then decided on brutal honesty: You’re getting old. The genetic quality can’t be guaranteed, you know?

I still chose to date the younger man.

After all, he had youth on his side. So what if he was partially motivated by my wealth?

The turning point arrived a few days later during a terrifying accident.

Our factory suddenly erupted in flames, and I happened to be there conducting inventory inspection that day.

When Kieran arrived, the entire facility was billowing with toxic smoke. He sprinted toward the inferno without any hesitation whatsoever.

And I stood frozen in a corner, witnessing everything.

Kieran was typically the type who was quietly intense and calculatinghe rarely displayed genuine raw emotion.

In that moment, I realized his claims of loving me might actually be authentic.

He rushed toward the entrance but was physically restrained by someone.

Mr. Cross, Ms. Holloway isn’t inside.

His eyes became slightly redrimmed. Upon hearing this news, he turned away and quickly wiped the corner of his

eye.

A moment later, he regained his composure and departed.

And I stood there completely stunned, obsessing over just one thing.

He cried. He actually shed tears

When we met again several days later, he appeared completely normal and composed. I casually mentioned our factory disaster.

He acted extremely nonchalant: I saw it on the evening news.

I couldn’t help snorting with amusement: Yeah, apparently some complete idiot rushed in without thinking. Everyone said he was absolutely insane. Probably trying to stage some elaborate insurance scam.

Kieran propped his chin on his hand and glared at me with murderous intensity.

After dinner, as we were preparing to part ways, he suddenly turned back: Um, my dog learned to do backflips. Want to come witness this miracle?

I politely declined: No thanks, I need to go admire my YOUNG boyfriend’s abs.

He grabbed my hand and leaned forward with desperate intensity: Please. Like that’s remotely impressive.

I pretended to be scandalized, but my hand couldn’t help exploring slightly: What exactly do you think you’re doing?

He sighed with theatrical resignation: Being a homewrecker in the name of LOVE.
