Ivy was thrilled. It was an incredible opportunity.
A few years at a firm like Vastmark would be invaluable for her future entrepreneurial ambitions.
As soon as she left the club, she called her husband.
"Hey, what was that about? Hanging up on me without answering my question?" she said, her tone playfully indignant. "We're not even an old married couple yet, and you're already being rude."
Jamison could hear the smug satisfaction in her voice and knew the meeting had gone well.
"So, are you in?" he asked, getting straight to the point.
"Pretty much, if I want to be. But with your recovery being the priority right now, I didn't give them a definite answer. I just said I'd think about it."
"Congratulations."
"Thanks," Ivy replied cheerfully, before returning to her original question. "Now, what's this gossip you know?"
"I'll tell you when you get here. I'm tired, I'm going to take a nap," he said, still teasing her.
But Ivy wasn't playing his game. "You just wait until I get there," she retorted, then hung up and immediately dialed Katrina.
"Ivy," Katrina answered, her voice a bit subdued.
"What's going on with you and Naylor?" Ivy asked directly. "Jamison said he has some gossip about you."
"That jerk," Katrina grumbled. "Did he really run straight to Dr. Ludwig to complain?"
"So you two did have a fight?"
