Ivy watched her husband's childish side and playfully swatted his arm.

The first time the call went through, it was immediately hung up.

"He might be busy," Ivy said. "Let's try again later."

"Hah. Hanging up that fast means he's definitely not busy."

Jamison knew his childhood friend too well. He knew exactly why the call was dropped.

"He guessed why I'm calling and hung up on purpose."

A wicked smirk tugged at Jamison's lips as he dialed again.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the line, Naylor stared at the caller ID on his car's display. He shot a glare at his girlfriend in the passenger seat. "This is all your fault."

Katrina narrowed her eyes. "Excuse me? I'm getting married. Am I not even allowed to tell my best friend? Are you trying to keep our marriage a secret?"

Naylor fell silent.

He really didn't want to answer the phone, so he reached out and declined the call again.

Katrina looked completely baffled. "Why won't you pick up? He knows you're getting married. Isn't that a good thing? He's definitely calling to congratulate you."

"Congratulate me?" Naylor scoffed coldly. "You don't know him at all. He's calling to mock me."

Katrina couldn't understand the inner workings of the male ego. "What do you mean?"

Naylor pressed his lips into a tight line, looking unusually awkward.

Katrina kept staring at him, waiting for an explanation.

After a heavy, stifling silence, he finally muttered, "I've always been a staunch bachelor. Now that I'm suddenly tying the knot..."
