The Villainess Needs a Hug (Ivy Windsor) novel Chapter 933

"Oh..."

"It might be for the best that Jamison is heading home. You all need to have a serious family discussion. Boyd's metrics perfectly meet the donation requirements. If you talk it over with him and he confirms he's willing, you can come to the hospital for the next steps."

Her heart a tangled mess, Ivy didn't dare make any promises. "Okay. Thank you, Director Wylde. We'll discuss it immediately."

"How do you want to handle it? Should the hospital notify Boyd, or will you reach out to him directly?"

Ivy considered it for a moment. Letting the hospital break the news felt far too cold and clinical. "I'll tell him. It's a delicate situation."

"Alright. Keep me posted."

Ending the call, Ivy asked the nanny to keep an eye on the boys and hurried back into the house.

"Danny, Adela, Boyd is a match," Ivy announced the second she saw her parents-in-law. "And... Jamison snuck out of the hospital. He's on his way here. I'm guessing he already knows and is coming back to confront us."

Danny paused, his teacup hovering mid-air, a look of sheer surprise on his face. "Boyd is a match?"

"Yes."

They already knew their eldest son wasn't medically cleared to even get tested.

They cared for all the younger generation in the family, making it impossible to say if this news was truly a blessing or a curse.

Knowing that Boyd was the one bearing this burden left the older couple deeply conflicted.

They might share a last name, but Boyd was an extended relative, not their own flesh and blood. Asking such a colossal favor of him was agonizing.

Seeing the helpless, distressed looks they exchanged, Ivy understood exactly what they were going through.

"How about I call Boyd and talk to him?" Ivy offered gently.

Danny nodded. "Alright. Give him a call and see where his head is at. We can't force this. But if he's willing, we will compensate him generously."

"Okay."

Right there in front of them, Ivy dialed Boyd's number.

Boyd had a lot of free time lately. Ever since Jamison's hospitalization, he had scaled back on his own investments.

He only had to manage his existing portfolios, occasionally dropping by partners' offices for meetings, showing his face, and collecting payouts.

Hearing his absolute certainty sent a thrill of overwhelming relief through the room.

"Alright, Boyd... if you save Jamison, you'll be the savior of this entire family. I will gladly transfer my personal shares in The Ludwig Group to you. If you ever want a job at the company, I'll have Thad set you up in whatever position you want. And if you'd rather stay out of it, you can just collect the dividends. Whatever you prefer." Eager to show his immense gratitude, Danny laid out an incredibly lucrative reward.

The dividends from his shares alone amounted to a staggering yearly income.

Adela nudged her husband and whispered, "Dividends take a year to pay out. That's a hassle. What if Boyd wants cold, hard cash?"

"Cash? How much is appropriate?" the older couple began to mutter back and forth.

Adela thought for a moment, holding up a hand with five fingers spread out, glancing at Ivy for confirmation.

"Fifty million dollars?" Danny translated the gesture.

Overhearing the astronomical number, Boyd panicked and quickly declined. "Adela, let's not talk about that right now. Jamison saved my life. Over the years, he's kept me on the straight and narrow and mentored me as an investor. I've been desperate for a way to repay him. Bringing money into this ruins it. Besides, the surgery hasn't even happened yet. We don't even know if it'll be a success."

The couple rushed to clarify. "No, no, those are two entirely different things. If you're willing to save him, we need to discuss compensation. Whether the surgery succeeds or fails has nothing to do with it."

Ivy remained silent, but internally, she wholeheartedly agreed with Danny.
