Chapter 137 Help Me
Chloe regretted it more than she could put into words.
But regret didn’t come with a cure.
She looked toward where Larissa stood, her expression complicated.
Class C had gathered closely around her and Daphne.
Their unity had never been stronger.
Class A had never had anything like that.
After school that day, Russ was the one who came to pick her up.
“Larissa, get in.”
Larissa slid into the passenger seat without a word.
Russ leaned over and fastened her seatbelt for her.
Then he handed her a slice of cake. “You must be hungry. I got this just for you.”
“Thanks, Russ. Where’s Nelson?”
Larissa took the cake naturally and began eating small bites.
This has to be Nelson’s idea. It’s my favorite–strawberry.
Finished
“Nelson passed his intermediate perfumer exam, so he went to Eldercrown. I’ll be the one picking you up from now on,” Russ explained.
“But you’re so busy. You don’t have to pick me up. I can get home on my own.”
She wasn’t fragile.
She wasn’t someone who couldn’t survive without others.
If she were, she would’ve died on Ravenmind Island at 12.
Russ thought for a moment.
“Larissa, I know you’re independent. But I still want to take care of you. If I’m ever too busy, I’ll have the driver pick you up.”
Larissa nodded and kept eating her cake.
Just then, Russ’s phone rang. After answering, his expression turned serious. “Larissa, something came up at the hospital. I…”
“It’s fine. Just drop me here. I’ll take a cab,” Larissa said softly.

Russ felt even more guilty. He pulled out a bank card and handed it to her.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t think this through. I’ll send the driver later. In the meantime, walk around, buy whatever you want.”
“Okay. Go ahead. I’ll be fine.”
Larissa got out of the car and waved goodbye.
The card was still in her hand.
This was how the Sowles showed affection. They handed out bank cards like it was nothing.
Isaac had given her a black card. Now, Russ had given her another.
Larissa strolled into the mall, unhurried.
She bought herself a large iced latte.
She hadn’t gotten gifts for her family since coming back.
Sipping her drink, she wandered into the luxury shopping center.
Suddenly, someone grabbed her clothes.
“Help … help me…”
Larissa reacted instantly and kicked him hard. Does he seriously think he can scam me?
The man collapsed onto the floor.
Only then did she step closer to look at him. Have I knocked him out?
It’s Alvin.
Isn’t he supposed to be in Eldercrown?
Why is he here?
He shouldn’t be that weak. One kick shouldn’t have done this.
Larissa rubbed her chin, thinking.
