Chapter 154 There Really Is Someone
Larissa took a taxi back to the villa.
Ruby was sitting in the living room waiting for her.
Finished
The moment she saw her, she brought over a bowl of chicken soup. “Larissa, you must be tired. Have something nourishing.”
Larissa took the bowl and drank it in one go.
“It’s delicious. Thank you, Mom. It’s so late, so why aren’t you asleep?”
Ruby held her hand and said worriedly,
“Larissa, has Morris continued to harass you?
“Should I hire a bodyguard tomorrow? Someone to protect you 24/7?
“I’m afraid what happened today could happen again.”
“Mom, don’t worry. I can handle the Turners.”
Larissa smiled to reassure her.
Looking at her well–behaved daughter, Ruby couldn’t understand how that family could treat her so cruelly.
“Alright, I’ll listen to you.
“Larissa, sometimes I wish you would rely on me more.
“My precious daughter doesn’t need to be so sensible and always thinking of others.
“I’m your mother. If you have difficulties, you can ask me for help.
“If you’re unhappy, you can act spoiled with me.
“We were apart for too long and missed too much. I haven’t been a good mother.”
Larissa’s eyes reddened slightly. She hugged her mother tightly and said softly, “Mom, don’t say that. You’ve always been the best mother.
“The past is in the past. As long as we’re together now, that’s enough.
“I’m already very happy.”
Ruby gently patted her back as they embraced warmly.
Several days later, Alvin delivered the remaining ingredients. Larissa gave him a universal antidote and completely cured his poison.

Chapter 154 There Really Is Someone
Meanwhile, Wesley returned to the Robinett estate.
His grandmother was lying in bed, pretending to be ill.
“Grandma. I’m back.”
“You might as well not have come back if you’re alone.”
Seeing that he had returned by himself, Maggie Robinett was furious.
She told him to go on blind dates, and he refused.
He was nearly 30, and she still had to worry about his marriage.
“If you don’t like women, then bring a man home. I have no objection. That’s my bottom line.”
She compromised helplessly.
Wesley shot a sharp look at Oscar.
“Why are you looking at him?
Finished
“If it weren’t for Oscar, I’d never have known that all these years you turned down girlfriends, refused blind dates, and avoided marriage because you supposedly like men.
“I’m not some old fossil. True love doesn’t depend on gender.
“If you really meet someone you like, just bring him home.”
She spoke earnestly.
Wesley was speechless.
He sat by the bedside and peeled an apple carefully. “I like women. And I already have someone I like.”
His grandmother’s eyes lit up. “Oh? Really? Who is she? Why didn’t you bring her for me to see?”
Wesley was silent for a moment before saying slowly, “It’s not the right time. She doesn’t like me.”
His grandmother’s eyes shone even brighter.
“There really is someone?
“Who is she?
“You need to take initiative and win her over quickly.
“I’m still waiting to hold a great–grandchild.”
