Wesley kicked a chair so hard it crashed against the wall.
“Go. Tear down every business that man owns. I want him to regret ever being born.

“And pass the word. Take good care of those thugs inside the jail. They are never walking out of there in this life.”
Oscar looked uneasy.
“Mr. Robinett, it was Mr. Bennett. He’s connected to organized crime. He’s also the adopted son of James Bennett from Eldercrown. If we move against him, we’re going against the Bennetts.”
Wesley sneered coldly. His eyes were full of contempt.
“The Bennetts? So what? Anyone who dares to touch Larissa will pay. I don’t care who he is.”
That was the moment Oscar truly understood. Larissa was important to his boss.
Wilmot had made a terrible mistake.
Of all people to mess with, he chose Larissa.
That was a significant mistake on his part, as it invited disaster.
Oscar nodded and left to carry out the orders.
Inside the police station, screams and desperate pleas echoed again and again.
More than a dozen thugs had been locked up. Since the moment they were brought in, they had been beaten over and over.
They had angered the wrong people.
Several powerful figures had already called, making it clear the men were to have “nice” treatment.
Bruises covered their bodies. Some dark, some fresh.
Even so, another call came in, repeating the same instruction.
It wasn’t that hard to get someone killed; who had these men offended to suffer like this?
At the same time, Wilmot found out that every man he had sent out had been arrested. He exploded with
rage.
“A brat like her dares to ruin my plans? She cost me so many men. I’ll make her pay for this.
“Send more people. Bring her to me. I want to see who she thinks she is, sending my men to jail.”

He spoke through clenched teeth. Then he started calling in more of his crew, preparing an even harsher revenge against Larissa.
“Yes, boss,” his men answered.
They stood in a neat row, waiting for orders.
Just then, someone rushed in, pale and out of breath.
“Mr. Bennett, bad news! A girl–she came alone. She fought her way in.
“Our men can’t stop her. She’s almost here!”
For the first time, a crack showed in Wilmot’s dark expression. His face filled with disbelief.
“What? One girl? And all of you can’t stop her? Useless!”
He roared and pulled the gun from his waistband.
“I want to see just how impressive she is.”
Then he saw her. A thin figure moved quickly through the crowd. Wherever she passed, his men fell to the floor.
It was Larissa.
When Wilmot saw her standing there, he was startled. Then he let out a cold laugh.
“Well, well. You’ve got guts, kid. You came here yourself.”
Larissa never let anyone take advantage of her. If someone wronged her, she handled it herself.
After calming Russ down, she came here alone.
