Carter finally understood. He rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed.

The manager frowned and snapped, “Carter, how dare you cause trouble here? You injured a racer’s hand, and the race starts in thirty minutes! Did you do this because you have weak driving skills? Are you trying to make our club lose?”

He pointed sharply at Carter.

“Apologize right now. If you don’t, I’ll make sure you’re blacklisted by the industry.”

Carter clenched his fists. He was about to speak when Duchess stepped in front of him.

She looked at them coldly and let out a short laugh.

“Wow. You really know how to twist the story. Is this how your club handles things? You want to blacklist Carter? I’d like to see you try.”
