Chapter 292 A Lesson That Silenced the Room
The moment the dean finished speaking, whispers spread across the hall.
“She’s Dr. Frazier’s mentee? That young girl?”
“You mean the famous Dr. Frazier? I’ve never heard that he took such a young student.”

“She’s just a kid. What could she possibly teach us? We came to see the Wonder Doctor. What a letdown.”
“Wait, doesn’t she look familiar? I swear I’ve seen her somewhere.”
“Lower your voice. Look at the director’s face. She’s clearly upset.”
Larissa surveyed the crowd with a composed gaze before beginning her lecture. Her voice, steady and assured, commanded attention. Starting with common illnesses, she moved step by step into rare and complicated diseases. From time to time, she added real cases from her own experience. Her explanations were simple, clear, and precise.
As she continued, the doubtful murmurs slowly faded. Surprise and admiration began to replace them.
“I didn’t expect her to be this capable.”
“Her medical knowledge is amazing. Just one lecture cleared up so many things for me.”
“A problem that has troubled me for years suddenly makes sense. This trip was worth it.”
“I judged too quickly earlier. Knowledge has nothing to do with age.”
“Hold on–I remember now. Isn’t she the SAT top scorer everyone’s been talking about?”
“No wonder she’s so impressive. If my daughter were that talented, I’d be proud every day.”
“She didn’t just top the SAT. She also represented the country in the Global Academic Competition and won first place with a perfect score.”
“And she’s this good at medicine too. Some people really make the rest of us feel ordinary.”
The crowd now looked at Larissa with clear admiration.

The middle–aged man who had questioned her earlier flushed with embarrassment and quietly lowered his head.
When the lecture ended, Larissa stepped down from the stage.
People quickly gathered around her. Some wanted to discuss medical problems. Others even asked to become her students.
The hospital director stepped forward and blocked the crowd, allowing Larissa to slip away.
Next time, Larissa decided she would never attend an event like this just because she felt soft- hearted.
Tim had thrown her into the spotlight just to win the favor of a lady.
The moment Larissa stepped out of the lecture hall, she ran into Morris, Julia, and Harlan.
She ignored them completely and walked past.
But Julia had no intention of letting her go.
“Oh, Larissa! What a coincidence,” Julia said with a bright smile. “Did you come here because you heard the Wonder Doctor was around? Are you hoping to ask the doctor to treat Grandma so you can use that as an excuse to come home?”
Larissa stared at her, speechless. Julia’s logic was truly impressive in its absurdity.
Morris quickly joined in with a smile.
“Is that true? I didn’t expect you to care so much about your grandmother. She’d be very happy if she knew. Why don’t you come with us and help take care of her?”
Larissa looked at them and gave a faint smile.
“Don’t you think that highly of yourselves? Can’t you see that I want nothing to do with you? Do me a favor. If you see me in the future, pretend we’re strangers. Don’t talk to me. I’d appreciate it.”
She paused, then added calmly, “Honestly, I’m afraid that if I stay around you too long, my IQ might start dropping.”
Harlan let out a cold laugh.
