Wesley pointed at a box of herbs beside him. “Whether you can take those herbs away depends on your capabilities.”

Larissa looked at the box. Inside were more than 20 neat bundles of medicinal herbs, exactly what she needed.

Her mood visibly lifted. Her eyes brightened, and her voice turned cheerful.

“No problem. I would take good care of you.”

She stepped closer to Wesley.

“Doctor, my boss has a thing about cleanliness. He doesn’t like strangers getting too close-”

Oscar didn’t finish his sentence. He froze. The doctor’s hand was already resting on Wesley’s wrist.

And his boss doesn’t seem annoyed.

He didn’t throw a tantrum.

What?

Oscar’s eyes widened in shock.

Is the boss’s clean freak selective?

Oscar had worked with Wesley for years. He had never stood this close to him.

Larissa had no idea Wesley even had such a habit.

Her pale, soft fingers rested on his pulse. She frowned out of habit. A minute later, she let go and spoke in a serious tone.

“Mr. Robinett, you haven’t slept for 72 hours straight. To be honest, you haven’t slept well for many years.

“Your body is completely exhausted. If you don’t rest properly, it may break down.”

As the doctor came closer, Wesley caught a faint, pleasant scent of herbs.

When he touched his wrist, he felt no discomfort at all.

Just by checking his pulse, the doctor understood his condition clearly.

Chapter 44 Two Ways to Sleep

It seemed like this Wonder Doctor really knew what he was doing.

“Doctor,” Wesley said, “is there a way to treat this? I won’t hide it. I truly haven’t slept for 72 hours.”

Larissa thought for a moment.

“Mr. Robinett, your insomnia is caused by psychological issues. You must have gone through something very painful in the past, and you never moved on. To be honest, there are two treatment options. Do you want a full cure, or do you just want to rest for now?”

Wesley’s eyes lit up.

“Go on.”

Oscar was pleasantly surprised as well. He hadn’t expected the Wonder Doctor to be this capable.

He looked young. Oscar had assumed he might not be reliable.

If the doctor could truly fix Wesley, his emotions would stay stable. As his direct subordinate, Oscar would benefit the most.

“Please explain in detail,” Oscar said.

Larissa took a small box of calming incense from her black canvas bag and placed it on the table in front of Wesley.

“This is top–grade calming incense. Light one stick. Within five minutes, you’ll fall asleep. This is the simplest method. But it only treats the symptoms, not the root cause. It won’t heal your psychological condition. If you choose this, you’ll need this incense every time you sleep.”

She paused, picked up the wine glass in front of her, and took a sip. Then another. It seemed to be the first time she had tasted alcohol since her rebirth. The flavor wasn’t bad.

Oscar stared in shock.

That glass was the one Mr. Robinett had just used.

So… is this an indirect kiss?
