Chapter 445 Side Story: The Longevity Pill
What she was actually thinking was, Why aren’t you dead yet?
Larissa was the reason her father was in prison.
And now, on top of everything, there was one more person to fight for a share of the family fortune.
Their eyes met, and you could almost feel the sparks in the air.
Each of them saw the other clearly in a single glance.

Truman laughed cheerfully, pleased to have more grandchildren around. “Larissa, you come back often. This is your home, too.”
Larissa sat down at the table with no change in her expression.
Hazel kept up the sweet-cousin routine.
“He’s right. You’ve only just come home to the Sowles, and this is your first time at the old estate. You should come by more often and get familiar with the place.”
Larissa nodded calmly. “Of course. Whatever you say, Hazel.”
Leonard looked pleased.
Truman waved his butler over, and a moment later the butler was holding a document in his hand. Truman said, “Larissa saved my ife. This document transfers every share I hold and every piece of real estate in my name directly to her. Consider it my thanks. And my apology.”
Hazel’s face went tight. Her eyes flooded with jealousy and disbelief.
The bowl of broth in her hands nearly slipped.
She had never once imagined Truman would hand his shares and property directly to Larissa.
t wasn’t fair.
For saving his life?
What about the years she’d spent sucking up to the old man?
Because she’d wasted years sucking up to this old man.
And in the end, he was leaving every asset to his name to the granddaughter who’d been missing since she was a child.
“Grandpa, isn’t this a bit rushed? Larissa just got home. She doesn’t know anything about the business yet, doesn’t know anything about how we operate.
“And-is that really fair to me?
“We’re both your granddaughters. You can’t play favorites.”
Hazel bit down on her anger and tried to force a smile over it.

Truman shot her a look.
“Hazel. Don’t tell me how to run my own affairs.
“Larissa was out there on her own as a child. She has suffered enough.
“And even after all of that, she grew into someone this extraordinary. She is a Sowle in the truest sense. She’s my pride.
“Larissa saved my life. These things going to her exactly as it should be.”
Larissa watched the scene play out without any particular reaction. She didn’t care about the money. But for her father’s sake, she wasn’t going to turn it down either.
Hazel bit her lip, silently swearing to herself that she was going to find a way to take it all back.
Leonard stood up and said warmly, “Dad. I’m so grateful you see my daughter for who she is. Thank you.”
He looked at his daughter with open pride.
Even growing up away from them, she had still become someone this exceptional.
Seeing that Truman wasn’t budging, Hazel couldn’t push back directly. She forced a smile.
‘You’re right, Grandpa. Larissa is clearly remarkable. She absolutely deserves these.”
Her hands, under the table, were balled into fists.
Anyone in her way had to be removed.
.arissa had shown Truman more respect by not openly resisting than anyone at that table appreciated.
Before she left, Larissa left a Longevity Pill with Truman as a gesture of thanks.
