He felt even more curious about her.

Not long after, the second son of the Sowles, Russ Sowle, who was Wesley Robinett’s personal doctor, walked into his room. Seeing that Wesley could still move, he asked in surprise, “Mr. Robinett, were you attacked?”

“This wound is so deep, but why are you so calm?

“Are you really immune to knives and bullets, like the rumors say?

Wesley curled his lips into a small smile. “If I told you it doesn’t hurt at all, would you believe me?”

Russ carefully examined the wounds. After confirming there was no problem, he started to bandage them.

“Don’t get it wet these days, and be careful when you go out.

“How’s your insomnia been lately? Are you resting well?”

Wesley put on his pajamas and lazily glanced at him.

“Give me some more sleeping pills.”

Russ nodded and took a box of pills from the medicine kit, handing it to him.

He reminded Wesley, “Don’t take too many of these. Even medicine can be dangerous if you overdo it. You should know that. You still need to find Wonder Doctor. He might be able to help.”

Wesley nodded. Ever since his mother died in a car accident five years ago, protecting him, he’d been having nightmares every time he slept. Slowly, he developed insomnia, and it only got worse over time.

“Yeah, I’ve already sent people to look, but so far, no leads. This doctor is famous for being impossible to track. He only appears if he wants to.”

Russ finished dressing his wound. “Don’t get this wet. I’ll head back now. Call me if you need anything.”

Wesley didn’t know why, but he decided to check that girl again tomorrow morning.

Larissa went to the guest room. It had everything she needed, even clean clothes and pajamas laid out just

for her.

This was a really rich family. Even the clothes were all designer brands, soft and comfortable to the touch.

After taking a shower and putting on the pajamas, she started looking up news about the missing child

case.

In just a few minutes, she found it–about the Sowles.

She was able to find it so quickly because, for more than ten years, the Sowles had been paying major media platforms every day to keep the search for their daughter in the news.

The notice matched the keepsake, her age, and her gender perfectly.

Could I really be the youngest daughter of the Sowles?

The announcement even listed several contacts and addresses.

Larissa took screenshots, planning to find the closest Russ.

He was at the hospital, which made it easy to do a DNA test.

If she wasn’t the daughter they were looking for, she could just leave.

Time passed quickly.

At 5:30 a.m., Larissa quietly left Wesley’s house.

Before she went, she left a note on the table, “Thank you for letting me stay. I’m leaving.”

Before leaving, she put the room back exactly the way it had been and changed back into her own clothes.

When Wesley woke up at 7:00 a.m., she was gone.

For some reason, he felt a strange emptiness at her leaving.

He didn’t even know her name. They hadn’t exchanged any contact info.

Last night, all the surveillance footage of her had disappeared.

She had arrived mysteriously and left just as mysteriously.

Looking at his photo, she felt an odd sense of familiarity.

They even looked a little alike. Could he really be my brother?

Larissa nervously walked to his office. She wanted to knock, but it looked like many doctors were in a meeting inside.

As the director, he must be very busy.

So she quietly sat back on the bench outside.

Everyone thought Larissa was just a patient, so no one paid her any attention.

“Please come in,” came a deep, calm voice.

Larissa straightened herself and tidied her clothes before pushing the door open.

Russ had been looking down, writing medical reports. He liked to wait for people to speak first. But after waiting a long time with no one saying a word.

Finally, he looked up and saw a teenage girl, maybe 17 or 18 years old. The moment he saw her familiar eyes, his own eyes grew red.

For some reason, she reminded him of his missing little sister.

She should be about the same age and just as beautiful.

Over the years, many girls had come claiming to be family, and each time it ended in disappointment.

Still, he didn’t want to miss any chance, so he treated each one seriously.

But this girl in front of him felt the most real.

After being disappointed so many times, he had already learned to face it calmly.
