Chapter 52 The Apology and the Accusation
“Larissa, we didn’t know any better. We shouldn’t have mocked you. We’re sorry.”
The other parents quickly followed and apologized as well.
Larissa looked at them with a cold, mocking smile.

“From now on, don’t judge people by appearances,” she said. “And don’t be foolish enough to let others use you as tools. Consider this as a lesson.”
The whole school erupted in cheers at the scene.
“Larissa is amazing!”
“You’re our hero!”
“She’s so bold and fearless!”
“I want to be like Larissa!”
“I can’t believe I once spoke badly about her.”
“This is the first time I’ve ever seen parents apologize to a student.”
“There’s something about Larissa that makes people trust her. From today on, she’s my idol.”
“Didn’t you say Julia was your idol before? Why the change so fast?”
“Compared to Larissa, Julia suddenly feels ordinary. One is fifth in the grade; the other is first place nationally. Who would you choose?”
Julia listened to the heated exchange, her eyes dark with anger.
She quietly gave Harlan a look. Harlan understood at once.
He suddenly rushed onto the stage and shouted loudly, “Larissa must have cheated! There’s no way someone who never even went to middle school could score that high. I demand a full investigation of her test result!”
The entire space fell silent at this.
Larissa raised an eyebrow and looked at him coldly. “Do you have any proof?”
Harlan answered confidently, “Proof? You are the proof. I grew up with you. I’m your brother. I know exactly what you’re capable of. You never even went to middle school, yet you scored this high. If that’s not cheating, what is?
“Ask everyone here–how many people really believe you earned this score on your own? Unless you can prove you’re innocent, you cheated.”

NO
Many students quickly began to doubt Larissa.
“No wonder her score was so high. So it was cheating.”
“Harlan sounds so sure, and he’s her adopted brother. He must be right.”
“I hate people who cheat for better grades. That’s disgusting. She should be expelled.”
“I almost made her my idol just now. Thinking about it makes me sick. Julia is way better. She’s always been excellent.”
“You’re all too easily swayed. You believe him just because he threw a few words around? I don’t think Larissa would do that.”
“I still support Larissa. She scored 745, the highest in the country. Who can copy answers and get a score like that?”
“What if she bribed a teacher and got the test paper early? If someone really wants to cheat, there are plenty of ways. Don’t forget, she’s a Sowles. They are the most powerful family in Marcrest. If they wanted the exam paper in advance, it wouldn’t be that hard.”
Julia watched the chaos with a satisfied smile.
Larissa, this time I’ll crush you completely. You’ll never recover.
