Chapter 70 Different Brothers, Different Treatment
Jettson showed her no kindness at all. People around them grew curious about who she was.
He answered coldly, “Just a maid.”
She should have understood sooner. Some people are born selfish and cold.
Giving even a little care to someone like that is a waste.”
She pulled her thoughts back and looked straight at Gavin. This was fine.
Being protected felt really good.

“You’re welcome,” Fred Lynch said warmly. “Your brother and I go way back. We grew up together. You’re his sister, which makes you mine too. If anyone dares to bully you, just say my name. I’m Fred Lynch. You can call me Fred.”
Fred introduced himself like they were old friends.
Larissa remembered him. He was the one who had just shoved a luxury watch–worth a fortune–into her hand like it was nothing.
He was dressed head to toe in flashy designer clothes.
Fred was loaded.
This man turned out to be Gavin’s close friend. The two of them were alike. No matter how old they got, men stayed boys at heart.
They both carried a rough, defiant vibe.
“Thank you,” Larissa said.
Getting so close to a stranger she just met felt awkward to her.

Gavin’s face darkened instantly.
“Leland,” he said coldly, “watch your mouth. You can insult me if you want, but you do not talk about my sister. Not one word. Apologize to her now.”
Leland and Gavin had grown up together.
They were known rivals, always competing, always throwing sharp words at each other.
Normally, Gavin didn’t care about his jokes. But this time was different; he actually got mad.
Larissa really mattered to him.
Leland wanted to see just how far Gavin would go for her.
“And if I don’t apologize?” Leland sneered. “What are you going to do about it?”
