Chapter 75
Lila dragged the suitcase behind her as she walked down the hallway, the wheels rolling heavily across the polished floor.
Inside the study, Maddy frowned slightly.
“What was that?” she asked, glancing at the documents Lila had just handed over. “The one she asked you to sign.”
“It’s just a property transfer,” Damon replied flatly.
His eyes were on Simon.
Simon looked back at him, clearly entertained, and slowly shook his head with quiet amusement.
“Oh,” Maddy said thoughtfully. “Is it the Calm Villa you bought?”
Damon didn’t hesitate.
“Calm Villa was hers.”
He stood up from the couch and walked back to his desk, already flipping open another document.
Within seconds, he buried himself in work again, silently signaling that the conversation was over and he had no intention of answering anything else.
Maddy pursed her lips but didn’t push further.
She stepped out of the study room.
As she reached the staircase, she saw Lila below, dragging a suitcase toward the door.
Maddy slowly descended the stairs.
“I see you’re moving to Calm Villa immediately,” she said casually.
Lila stopped.
She looked up at Maddy but didn’t say anything.
Maddy tilted her head slightly, a faint smile appearing on her lips.
“Well, Calm Villa really suits your level,” she added lightly. “I guess that’s not surprising. You’ve always liked cheap things.”
Lila’s eyes darkened.
“Aren’t you the one who said you weren’t like the others who bother asking about the price of things given to you?” Lila snapped.

Maddy chuckled softly.
:
“Actually, he gave it to me,” she said calmly. “But I didn’t like it.”
The words struck Lila like a blade.
So Damon really did give it to Maddy first.
A dull pain spread through her chest.
“Whatever,” Lila said coldly.
She turned to leave.
But before she could take another step-
Maddy grabbed her wrist.
Lila froze.
Something inside her finally snapped.
Without hesitation, she yanked her arm back hard.
Maddy lost her balance and fell hard onto the floor.
A sharp gasp escaped her lips.
Tears quickly gathered in her eyes as she looked up toward the staircase.
“Lila…” Maddy called weakly, her voice trembling.
The sound of hurried footsteps followed.
Damon appeared at the top of the stairs and quickly descended.
“What happened?” he asked sharply.
He immediately bent down and helped Maddy to her feet.
Maddy clung to his arm, tears rolling down her cheeks.

“Damon…” she sobbed. “I was just trying to help Lila with her suitcase… but I guess she still misunderstood us and pushed me.”
Lila stood a few steps away, unmoved.
Her suitcase remained beside her.
She didn’t even bother to defend herself.

“Damon… my baby…” Maddy whimpered suddenly, one hand moving to her stomach. “Help…”
Damon’s expression darkened instantly.
Without another word, he scooped Maddy into his arms.
Lila rolled her eyes slightly.
The performance was almost impressive.
As Damon carried Maddy toward the door, he suddenly stopped and glanced back at Lila.
“You should apologize if you’re in the wrong,” he said coldly.
His eyes then dropped to the suitcase beside her.
“You’re not leaving.”
His tone was final.
Damon looked toward the guards standing nearby.
“Watch her,” he ordered.
Then he turned and walked out of the villa, carrying Maddy in his arms.
Lila stood there motionless.

The front door had already closed behind Damon, yet the silence he left behind still lingered heavily in the villa.
“Lila… what happened?”
Simon’s voice broke the quiet.
Lila slowly looked up at him.
At least he asked what really happened, she thought.
For a brief second, a bitter thought crossed her mind.
I wish Simon was my husband instead of Damon… maybe I would have stayed.
But the thought faded as quickly as it came.
“It’s nothing,” Lila said calmly.
Simon studied her face.
“Where are you going?” he asked, glancing at the suitcase beside her.

“We’re getting divorced,” Lila replied quietly. “So it’s best if I walk away now… so they can move on.”
She picked up the handle of her suitcase and walked toward the door.
The moment she stepped outside, two bodyguards followed behind her.
Lila stopped and turned to look at them.
“Do you want to get beaten by Damon?” she asked coldly.
The bodyguards exchanged uneasy glances.
“Lila,” Simon said as he stepped forward.
He took the suitcase handle from her hand.
“Don’t make their job harder.”
He pulled the suitcase back inside.
“Their job is already hard enough.”
Simon looked at the bodyguards and gave them a small nod.
“Stay here until the divorce is finalized,” he added calmly.
Lila remained standing there, unmoving.
For a moment, she looked like she might argue again.
But instead, she let out a quiet breath.
“Fine,” she said.
She rubbed her temples lightly.
“Okay… I’ll go out for a bit. I need to clear my mind.”
Without waiting for anyone’s response, Lila turned and walked away from the villa.
Lila scanned the driveway, frowning.
“Where’s my car?” she asked the bodyguard, her voice sharp.
“I believe it was at the Blackthorne Estate, ma’am,” the bodyguard replied politely, bowing his head slightly.
“I will be your driver from now on, ma’am,” he added.
Lila gave a small nod. “Then let’s go.”
She slid into the leather seat of the luxury car, settling herself as the engine purred to life.

The city passed by in a blur of sunlight and reflections. They drove in silence for a while, letting Lila’s mind wander freely. Eventually, the car slowed and came to a stop in front of an apartment building.
“You can go home,” Lila said to the bodyguard. “I’m staying here.”
With that, she stepped out and entered the building.
Inside Ina’s apartment, Lila lazily flopped onto the sofa bed, letting herself sink into its softness.
A long silence stretched across the room. Finally, Lila broke it, her voice quiet but steady.
“He finally agreed to the divorce.”
Ina looked at her, tilting his head slightly. He studied her carefully, noting the emptiness in her gaze.
“Yet it seems you are not happy,” he observed softly.
Lila turned her eyes toward the ceiling, letting a faint sigh escape her lips.
“I don’t know,” she admitted. “I thought I would feel relief… but it doesn’t feel like that at all.”
Ina remained quiet, giving her space, letting the words settle in the quiet apartment.
