“What should we do then? Should we adjust our strategy to deal with Harold first?” Nash asked.
“No need,” Alexander said, shaking his head. “The 07 fighter jet project is our core advantage. It won’t be so easy for Harold to compete with that.”
“Go back and arrange a senior management meeting for this afternoon to discuss our response. And accelerate our coordination with our government partners. Don’t give Harold any openings.”
“Understood, Mr. Davidson.” Nash nodded and turned to leave.
Alexander strode toward the hospital exit, his steps steady. But as he passed the end of the corridor where Danielle had disappeared, his pace faltered for a moment.
He instinctively glanced in that direction. The hallway was empty, the air filled only with the smell of antiseptic.
An empty, tightening sensation suddenly gripped his heart. A feeling of unease washed over him, growing stronger by the second.
“Mr. Davidson, the car is ready,” Nash’s voice called from the entrance.
Alexander tore his gaze away, took a deep breath to suppress the complex emotions churning inside him, and walked toward the door. The car pulled away from the hospital, heading for NextCore.
Meanwhile, Danielle had already entered the doctor's office with her test results. After reviewing the papers, the doctor nodded. “All your levels are normal. We can schedule the procedure.”
“When would you like to schedule it for?”
Danielle sat in the chair, her fingers unconsciously fiddling with the hem of her shirt as a wave of indecision washed over her.
