"No need," Rebecca said without turning her head, her voice sharp with impatience. She desperately needed some air and didn't want to be chaperoned. Sammie didn't argue. He silently walked around the front of the car, intending to get into the passenger seat. But just as he reached for the door handle, Rebecca slammed her foot on the accelerator. The car shot forward like an arrow, leaving behind nothing but a cloud of exhaust and dust.
Sammie froze, watching the car disappear into the distance, his brow tightly furrowed and a flicker of worry in his eyes. He stood in silence for a few seconds, then turned and walked toward another car in the garage—a backup vehicle he kept specially prepared, always with a full tank of gas. The moment he got in, his phone rang. He answered it. "Yeah."
"Sammie. There's trouble at the docks. We need you here." Sammie's voice was as cold as ice. "Handle it yourself." With that, he hung up, started the car without hesitation, and sped off in the direction Rebecca had gone. But he hadn't driven far before the phone rang again. It was the same person.
"Sammie, they said... they know Miss Rebecca's movements. They said they're going to..." The man's voice was panicked, and he didn't dare finish the sentence. Sammie's face instantly darkened, the atmosphere around him dropping to freezing. "A threat?" he snarled. "Then eliminate it. Do I need to walk you through it?"
The man on the other end flinched at his tone and quickly complied. "Yes, sir! I'll handle it right away!" After hanging up, Sammie pressed the accelerator even harder, pushing the car to its limit. The streetlights flashed across his face, illuminating his clenched jaw and the fury simmering in his eyes.
He had known for a long time that many people had their eyes on Rebecca. Her family held a prominent position in the medical world, and she was a genius in her own right. Tall trees attract the wind. Over the years, he had deflected countless attacks for her, both overt and covert, but he had never felt a sense of panic like this before. Rebecca was stubborn and always tried to act tough. Going out alone was dangerous enough, but now someone was tracking her movements. He had to catch up to her and ensure her safety.
Meanwhile, Rebecca sped through the night. The evening wind rushed in through the open window, tousling her hair and blowing away some of her frustration. She knew Sammie would follow, and she knew he was just trying to protect her, but she couldn't stand being so constrained. The car gradually left the city and headed toward the Davidson villa. Rebecca stared at the dark road ahead, her thoughts drifting to Alexander's condition. Judging by his voice on the phone, it was serious. She hoped she wasn't too late.
Sammie followed at a discreet distance. Rebecca had the temper of a pampered princess—spoiled and proud. She knew that no matter what, Sammie would be right behind her, never leaving. So she acted on her whims, doing as she pleased. That man was like an inescapable shadow, always trailing her. Rebecca glanced at the rearview mirror and, sure enough, saw the familiar car. She scoffed. It was all so dreadfully boring.
Just then, her father's call came through. "Becca, I'm getting you a new bodyguard in a couple of days. He's getting engaged."

I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele. OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
