"Did you need something?"
Danielle gripped the phone a little tighter. "It's Niki. She wants to go skiing for winter break, and she wanted to invite Raffy."
"I wanted to ask if you had the time... to come with us?"
Silence hung on the line for a brief second before Alexander's low chuckle resonated through the speaker. "Of course. I always have time."
"I'll go anywhere you and Niki want to go."
"That's great," Danielle breathed a sigh of relief. "I was worried you'd be too busy."
"No amount of work is more important than you."
Alexander shifted gears seamlessly. "Do you have a resort in mind yet? If not, I can have my team book something. Safe and fun, guaranteed."
Danielle smiled. "I haven't even had time to look. You handle it. I trust you."
"Done."
Alexander added, "I'll start looking at options tonight. I'll make sure it's the perfect vacation."
They chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up.
Setting her phone down, Danielle stared out into the night, the smile on her face lingering for a long time.
The second the call ended, Alexander immediately opened his browser, aggressively researching top-tier ski resorts in the area.

Early the next morning.
The moment Danielle stepped into her office at Ninesky Technologies, her secretary rushed in, looking slightly bewildered. "Ms. Crawford, there's a woman named Ella downstairs. She says she's a European partner and brought a comprehensive business proposal."
Danielle's pen paused mid-air. The name Alexander had mentioned last night instantly clicked in her brain.
She arched an eyebrow, thinking for a split second. "Send her up. Have her wait in the reception room."
Setting her documents aside, Danielle smoothed out her skirt and walked down the hall.
As she reached the doorway, she saw a woman in a sharp white suit standing by the floor-to-ceiling windows, her back turned.
Her long, blonde curls perfectly framed her striking features.
Hearing footsteps, Ella spun around. A flawless, corporate smile instantly took over her face as she extended a hand. "Ms. Crawford. I've heard so much about you."
As Ella scanned the state-of-the-art equipment, she couldn't hide her shock.
She had assumed Ninesky Technologies was merely a vanity project propped up by The Davidson Group. But seeing it in person, this company was an absolute powerhouse in its own right.
"This is our proprietary new energy storage material. The conversion rate is fifteen percent higher than the current market standard."
Danielle gestured to a massive, glowing terminal, a hint of pride in her voice. "Furthermore, our safety and environmental metrics completely eclipse industry baselines."
Ella leaned closer to the terminal, carefully studying the real-time diagnostics before standing up straight. She gave Danielle an impressed nod.
"Ms. Crawford, Ninesky's capabilities far exceed my expectations. Partnering with you would be a brilliant move."
"A good partnership is built on mutual benefit," Danielle replied with a faint smile. "Now that you've seen our operation, why don't we find a quiet place to hash out the specifics?"
As noon approached, Danielle offered to host Ella for lunch, knowing she had traveled a long way.
Wanting an environment that was professional yet relaxed enough for negotiations, Danielle booked a table at an upscale equestrian club restaurant just down the road.
The atmosphere was private and serene, with sprawling green pastures out back where thoroughbreds could be seen grazing.
When they walked into the private dining room, Gian Atwood and Kirsten Delaney were already sitting at the table, waiting for them.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
Although she was one of the protagonist (and best friend of Danielle), I'm really annoyed with Kristen. What does she actually want? She wants to be completely free from Gian, whatever their business is. But when Gian doesn't care about her, she gets annoyed and overthinks. Hey, Kristen, the world doesn't revolve around you. You may follow your own feelings, but that doesn't mean you can ignore other people's feelings at all!...
It seems like this novel will end at chapter 5000. Every time one issue ends, another one pops up, and it seems like the author is just trying to drag it out. I'm starting to get tired of reading it....
I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele. Hated that in the name of love or protection alexander can treat another woman better, not just once, but with this new lorie girl... Oh my blood pressure getting higher cause by the new plot :(...
