Rebecca maintained her frosty demeanor. She refused to cower, refused to play nice. She just stood there radiating cold, unapologetic arrogance—like a queen refusing to kneel even with a blade at her throat.
"You—" Claire was struck speechless. Her eyes flushed with angry tears as she turned to her fiancé. "Sammie, did you hear her? She doesn't even want to be here! Why are you forcing her into our home?!"
He frowned darkly, his voice dropping an octave. "She can't leave."
"Why not?!" Claire's voice quivered. "Whether she lives or dies has nothing to do with us! This is our home!"
Rebecca stood on the sidelines, watching them bicker with icy detachment.
She couldn't be bothered to jump in or explain herself.
She honestly found the whole thing hilarious in a twisted way.
She was the hostage here.
Yet the official fiancée was acting like an attack dog toward her, too terrified to bark at the man who actually brought her here.
She spoke up again, her tone brutally flat.
"Let me spell this out for you again. I do not want to be here. If you've got the spine for it, escort me out the door. If you don't, then shut your mouth and leave me alone."
She had far too much pride to stoop to the level of a homewrecker, but she sure as hell wouldn't stand around and let some insecure woman insult her.
She didn't scream, didn't cry, and didn't beg. With just a few sharp words, she laid out all her cards.
Claire choked on her own spit, unable to form a single counter-argument.
She desperately wanted to explode, establish her dominance, and scream at the intruder to get the hell out.
But she didn't have the guts to actually call the shots and kick her to the curb.
She was entirely too afraid to defy her fiancé.

It seems like this novel will end at chapter 5000. Every time one issue ends, another one pops up, and it seems like the author is just trying to drag it out. I'm starting to get tired of reading it....
I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele.
