"Oh, one more thing," Kirsten's tone grew serious. "Millie's trial will start soon, and as a key witness, you'll need to testify in court. It should be in the next couple of days. The court will send you a formal notice."
Danielle's heart sank. She had always known she would have to testify, but now that the moment was here, she felt a wave of complicated emotions. Taking a deep breath, she said quietly, "I know. I'll be there."
"By the way, has Millie's mother, Leanne, tried to contact you?" Kirsten asked suddenly. "You know, to ask for a letter of forgiveness or something? It could lead to a lighter sentence."
Danielle paused, the image of Leanne crying and begging for her forgiveness outside the Aerospace Institute flashing in her mind. Leanne hadn't contacted her since that day. She had assumed Leanne had given up, so Kirsten's question caught her off guard.
"No, she hasn't contacted me since I saw her at the institute," Danielle said softly, a flicker of doubt rising. "Why do you ask?"
"No reason, it just seems strange," Kirsten mused. "Leanne is so fiercely protective of Millie, I didn't think she'd give up so easily. Then again, maybe she knows the evidence is irrefutable and there's no point in trying."
Danielle remained silent, but she couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't that simple. Leanne was a stubborn woman who would do anything for her daughter. Her sudden silence was more unsettling than her persistence.
The next morning, Danielle had just arrived at the temporary office at the summit when Larkin found her with his laptop. She patiently helped him debug the algorithm, and after solving the issue, she began preparing her materials for the afternoon's technical exchange.
It wasn't until noon that she finally had a moment to pull out her phone and send a message to Gian, asking if he knew anything about Harold adopting Raffy. A few moments later, Gian replied: "I just heard about it too. I have people looking into it. Harold wouldn't do something like this without a reason. Stay safe. I'll let you know as soon as I find anything."
Danielle stared at the screen and sighed softly. She knew a new storm was quietly brewing, and she had to prepare herself to face whatever was coming.

I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele. Hated that in the name of love or protection alexander can treat another woman better, not just once, but with this new lorie girl... Oh my blood pressure getting higher cause by the new plot :(...

OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
