His heart tightened, and he quickly walked over, placing his hands on her shoulders. “What is it? What happened?”
Danielle Crawford looked up, her face pale. “The court just called. They said Millie Fletcher submitted new evidence, accusing me of leaking state secrets and giving her the technical data. They want me to come in for questioning immediately.”
Alexander Davidson’s expression darkened. He patted Danielle’s shoulder reassuringly, his voice steady and calm. “It’s alright. I’m here.”
Sensing the tense atmosphere, Niki tugged on Danielle's shirt and whispered, “Mommy, what’s wrong? Aren't we going to the amusement park anymore?”
Danielle crouched down, forcing a smile as she stroked her daughter's hair. “Be a good girl, Niki. Mommy and Daddy have something urgent to take care of. We’ll go to the amusement park next time, okay?”
Though a little disappointed, Niki nodded obediently. “Okay. Don’t worry, Mommy. I’ll be good.”
Alexander immediately called Nash Langley and asked him to pick Niki up and take her back to the hotel.
Nash arrived quickly, and once Niki was with him, Alexander drove Danielle toward the courthouse.
His hands tightened on the steering wheel, his eyes filled with a cold fury. He already suspected that Millie's sudden new evidence was orchestrated by someone else—most likely Harold Chapman or Jake Davidson.

The black sedan pulled up in front of the courthouse. As Danielle got out of the car with Alexander, she noticed a distinct change in the way the security staff looked at them.
Standing beside him, Danielle watched his calm profile and felt a sense of peace settle over her. He had never cared about the deference of others. All he ever wanted was to protect the people he cared about and handle matters that needed to be handled.
After completing the form, Alexander handed it back and asked, “When will the judge be available to summon her? We can cooperate at any time.”
The clerk rolled his eyes but still answered, “Three o’clock this afternoon, in Mediation Room 3 on the third floor.”
Alexander glanced at the clerk, a faint sneer on his lips.
He turned to Danielle and said, “We still have some time. I’ll take you to the coffee shop next door to wait.” His voice was still calm, betraying no emotion.

I hope daniele will have no end game with alexander since whatever the reason is, he only give her too much grievencess. I hope there will be another male character with stronger present than alexander to have the end game with daniele. Hated that in the name of love or protection alexander can treat another woman better, not just once, but with this new lorie girl... Oh my blood pressure getting higher cause by the new plot :(...

This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
