Alexander sat beside her and handed her a glass of water from the table. “Don’t rush. Maybe the problem isn’t on your end.”
“Harold is backing Leanne. It’s very likely they fabricated evidence—forging your signature, altering file timestamps, things like that are all possible.”
“But how could they have gotten access to the files?” Danielle asked, confused. “Security at the Aerospace Institute is tight. Only the Director and I have access to the core documents.”
Alexander’s gaze darkened, his fingers tapping lightly on the tabletop. “Harold is well-connected. He could have obtained a copy of the documents through other channels and then altered it.”
“I’ve already had Attorney Stewart look into the Aerospace Institute’s recent file access logs to see if there’s any unusual activity.”
Danielle looked at him. “Okay.”
He was methodical and handled things with ease, primarily because he had the right connections. He saw details and angles that she, on her own, would have missed. While she could handle many problems herself, Alexander’s presence made even the most serious issues feel manageable.
“Don’t put so much pressure on yourself,” Alexander said. “Leave the evidence to me.”
“Right now, you just need to rest and take care of Niki. You don’t have to worry about anything else.”
Danielle nodded. With Alexander by her side, she felt as if she could overcome any obstacle.
Just then, his phone rang. It was Nash.
He answered, his expression growing progressively more serious as he listened. Nash had discovered that Leanne had been making frequent trips to a local print shop, and the owner was a former employee of Harold’s company.
Danielle’s heart leaped into her throat as she watched Alexander anxiously.
The car arrived at the print shop. The area was bustling with people, a steady stream of pedestrians passing by. The security cameras were discreetly placed, almost impossible to spot unless you were looking for them. Danielle was again impressed by his resources and ability to uncover these small but crucial details so quickly—details she never would have thought of.
Alexander and Danielle got out of the car.
He glanced at her. “Wait in the car for me. I’ll go in and be right back.”
Danielle looked back at him. “Let’s go together and see what the situation is.”
Alexander gave a slight smile. “Sometimes, talking to these small-time shopkeepers is harder than closing a business deal.”
Danielle smirked. “Nothing is harder than running data calculations.”

OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
