Danielle didn’t respond.
The atmosphere in the private room grew quiet again, with only the faint clinking of cutlery breaking the silence. After they finished their meal in silence, Harold offered to drive her back to the Aerospace Institute. Danielle didn’t refuse—he was an important partner, after all, and being too distant could hinder the project’s progress.
As the car pulled up to the entrance of the Aerospace Institute, Danielle unbuckled her seatbelt and thanked Harold, preparing to get out.
“Danielle,” Harold called out suddenly. “No matter what, I hope we can continue to work well together, just like now.”
Danielle turned back and smiled at him. “Of course, Mr. Chapman.”
“It’s a pleasure working with you.”
With that, she pushed the door open and walked briskly into the Aerospace Institute.
