It was the most peaceful time she’d had since joining the Aerospace Institute. There were no endless project reports, no urgent calls for overtime, and none of the draining gossip and drama. Surrounded only by her daughter's laughter and the stability of their life, her frayed nerves slowly began to unwind.
One afternoon, Danielle took Niki to the mall to buy picture books. As they passed a baby store, Niki suddenly stopped and pointed at the window display.
“Mommy, look! That little dress is so pretty!”
Danielle followed her gaze. A pink lace dress hung in the window, its skirt embroidered with cute little rabbits. Beside it were tiny baby shoes and soft, plush toys.
She thought of the child in her womb—the little life that had not yet taken form. If this baby were born, perhaps they, too, would be like Niki, wearing pretty little dresses and calling her 'Mama' in a tiny, sweet voice.
A strange emotion swelled in her chest, and her eyes grew misty.
“Mommy, what’s wrong?” Niki sensed her mother’s mood and tugged on her hand, her little face filled with concern.
Danielle snapped back to the present. She knelt, stroking her daughter’s head with a smile. “It’s nothing, sweetheart. Mommy just thinks that dress is really beautiful, too. Do you want to go inside and see?”
“Yes!” Niki chirped, pulling Danielle into the store.

OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
