I was totally and catastrophically fucked!
How did I even end up in this absurd situation? How was I supposed to find an alpha to meet and just discar later in… I checked my watch…three hours?
I chewed on my bottom lip as I waited for the taxi to drop me back home. I could just turn around and tell Connor the truth, accept defeat and move on with my life.
He had always picked on me, baited me with his crazy antics. But after a long time, I had gotten a chance to prove him wrong.
Connor boasted about always being right, about being good at everything under the sun. I hadn’t met him ever since his transfer to another school in a different city but I wasn’t going to let him fill Aaron’s mind with garbage.
Even though I trusted Aaron, his decision lately, particularly with Sandra had left me with a lot of doubts. She was already snatching my best friend from me, I didn’t want my childhood rival to add more fuel to the fire as well.
So I sat back and dialed the only number I could think of.
“What’s the emergency?” Jane chirped from the other end, not bothering to say hi or hello.
“I need a date” I sighed and her voice immediately lit up.
“Aha, you are finally ready to explore the world, meet handsome princes who will drag you to dark alleys to ravage you.”
“That’s what kidnappers do, not handsome princes” I quipped.
“Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish” She clicked her tongue reproachfully.
“Are you going to help me or not?” I asked and I could feel Jane’s ponytail bobbing up and down as she mulled over it.
Jane and Ivy were my friends from school as well but our interactions had lessened after all of us ended up choosing different streams for higher studies. But we managed to keep in touch because we were still ini the same city.
“I am not a genie, my lady. Give me a few days to find someone for you” Lheard the faint scratching of per which meant she was probably completing her assigruments.
“I got hours, three to be exact”

Chapter 10
That got her attention.
“And why do are you suddenly looking for a date out of the blue? Are your hormones okay? Do you nee get laid? Girl, I can introduce you to this magic toy…”
“Its a dare by Connor” I supplied before she could ramble any further.
“Connor? You mean the childhood bully of yours, you, me and Ivy made detailed plans about killing in o our summer vacations by drowning him in coke?”
“Yep, and please don’t ask me anything else. I will fill you in on the details later.”
“Oh boy, this is way more exciting than spending my Friday night completing assignments. Tell you what, might have someone for you. Go get ready!”
“You are the best, Jane!” I thanked her for coming to my help in such a short notice.
The taxi dropped me home and Mom was waiting for me expectantly but I brushed her off.
“Everything is under control, don’t worry. Connor won’t dare hurt our pack.”
Mom let out a relieved sigh.
“I wasn’t sure if seeing him would make you angrier at us. I know you two didn’t really get along.”
That was putting it mildly like we somehow tolerated each other. No, he had made it his mission to be the bane of my existence for as long as we went to the same primary school and I distinctly remember celebrating by drinking a ton of coke when I heard he was leaving the city.
That had been one party I still fondly remembered, and tonight, I was going to have the biggest party ever in my life after I saw his crumpled, dissatisfied face.
Oh, I was going to totally relish it!
I reached for the wardrobe where mom usually stored the expensive outfits and brushed my fingers over them all, trying to picture myself as a diva.
I settled on a bold red dress which was backless, sleeveless and had a slightly plunging neckline.
I had never worn it before but tonight I wasn’t going to pull any stops so quickly changed into it, dabbing mascara and painting my lips the exact shade of red like my dress.
I even curled my hair a little, letting them fall like waves around my shoulders. It took me almost an hour to get ready but when I stared at my reflection. I felt like parting myself on the back,
I looked like the girl who anybody would want to make out with, hell, I could maybe even give Sandra a run for her money if I wanted to.
A smile appeared on my lips as I adjusted my glasses and put on my sandals, draping a shawl around myself
to not scandalize mom.

Chapter 10
The clock was ticking and I was growing impatient so I quickly dialed Jane again.
“Hold your horses, milady. Your aide has been busy.”
