Connor’s voice cut through the quiet like a blade. “Does anybody have anything to say in Rory’s defense?”

No one spoke. Not a single soul came forward to vouch for him.

Rory’s beta and gamma were still begging for their lives and looked around terrified.

Even the elders looked uneasy and Elder Johanson who usually had a lot to say was unnaturally quiet.

Sandra simply clung to Aaron, somehow hoping the elders‘ attention would go back to her instead of the ongoing drama

Rory was cornered and knew it. He turned his desperate gaze on me, his expression twisted into something ugly and calculating.

His voice rose, shaky but venomous.

He straightened as much as he could, voice rising dramatically for the whole room to hear,

“Look at this! The great alpha heir has double standards! He preaches loyalty and tradition, digs up others‘ secrets but wh about his own?”

He sneered and Connor’s eyes narrowed.

“You all easily labeled me as the culprit just because his pack is in power” Rory stabbed the air, fingers pointed at Connor. “But do you know the dirty secrets he hides about his so–called partner?”

Connor was moving away and had already drawn fist that connected with Rory’s jaw by the time he finished the sentence

Blood sprayed all around and Connor growled. “How dare you point at my partner when you don’t even deserve to take a breath.”

Rory’s mouth was filled with blood as Connor grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and flung him aside.

Rory went flying on the nearest pillar and crashed but the smile on his face only increased.

“Look at this, people! The great Ashford pack and their so called respectable family. They are out here giving out judgments when they should look in their own house first”

My stomach dropped. Sandra’s lips curved into a barely hidden smile as she watched the scene unfold, clearly enjoying every second of my humiliation.

Alpha Asher’s voice snapped like a whip. “Enough! Do not malign the Ashford name without proof, or you will face the death penalty for every crime already proven against you tonight.”

“Oh you are going to kill me either way! Rory snapped back, losing all rationality. “But I wont die without exposing your family.”

He then looked directly at me. “I am going to bring up your shameful deeds in front of everyone. Let’s see how your precious Connor protects you then”

Rory was determined to drag me down with him.

With a trembling hand, he pulled out his phone and held it up for the entire hall to see. And on it was a zoomed in picture of me. It was grainy but clear enough to tell it was really me.

Chapter 128

The crowd gasped, those standing closer leaning in to take a good look.

I hung my head in shame as he showed my flushed face, and parted lips along with the hooded eyes to everyone.

“See?” Rory said, voice rising with outrage. “This is the kind of woman the Ashfords welcome into their inner circle. Th are more pictures”

He scrolled to the next and that showed my naked body hidden only by the back of a tall man wearing black pants.

“This is the woman who was caught red handed giving herself to random resort staff while claiming to be the partner of future alpha. She was accidentally caught having sex with some unknown man while that other soon to be daughter in 1 this pack was partying with her friends.”

Sandra put on a solemn face immediately but the glee in her eyes was unmistakable.

“How can any of you respect their traditions when this is how they behave behind closed doors?”

My face burned with humiliation and tears stung my eyes as I hung my head, unable to meet anyone’s gaze. The whispe grew louder and crueler.

I felt exposed, dirty, and small, I felt like every eye in the room was judging me. My hands trembled at my sides as I foug the urge to run.

Connor stood frozen for half a second, staring at the phone. Rory saw our faces and muttered loudly.

“This man here wants to be chosen as the next alpha heir yet he lets his so–called partner whore herself out to random me while pretending to be pure for the pack! Or maybe…”

He took a dramatic pause. “…maybe he just realized he was being cheated on by the girl for whom he was ready to attack n without a second’s delay.”

Gasps rippled through the crowd like a shockwave.

“Maybe now you know how it feels when your own people betray you” Rory smiled devilishly, throwing Connor’s line back at him.

I tried to free my hands from Connor’s grip, wanted to spare him any further humiliation but he never let me go.

Instead, he took a step closer to Rory, snatched his phone from him and then to my shock, the corner of his mouth curved into a slow, dangerous smile.

Rory’s triumphant expression faltered. “Why… why are you smiling? You realize she’s been cheating on you, right?

Elder Johanson who had been silent all this while, suddenly spoke. “I realized she was not a good fit for this pack the moment I met her. Glad to know my instincts were right.”

He looked at Alpha Asher and Luna Lydia who were speechless.
