The Wrong Brother's Temptation novel Chapter 218

Chapter 218

Sinna

We kept going for hours, Connor kept pushing, kept increasing the intensity of his aura. As a result, I felt I had been stretched from both sides and wrangled like a wet blanket.

“Again”

He said but I simply lay on the forest floor, dirt and mud sticking to my face covered in sweat. Every single part of my body hurt and I just lay there, unable to move or even say no to him.

“Sienna!”

He called out to me and my fingers twitched but I couldn’t find the strength in me to move. I simply lay on the ground with my face plastered in dirt and watched his shoes came closer and stop in front of my face.

“Get up”

I couldn’t. I felt a hand grab me by the elbow and lift me up into a sitting position. That single movement made a lot of muscles hurt and my brain felt like it had melted.

Connor pushed me towards the large tree trunk to let me lean on it and held a water bottle in front of me.

“Drink, but very slowly”

I somehow managed to reach for the bottle but my hands shook terribly. The bottle would have slipped from my hand but then his hand came up to cup mine and he took the lid off.

His hands cocooned mine and somehow I felt incredibly relaxed all of a sudden. But when I looked up at his eyes, they were devoid of the warmth I felt radiating from his body.

I took a sip from the bottle and immediately coughed it all out, spraying all over Connor’s face.

“What…the hell is…that?” I rasped, my voice sounding like dry sandpaper was being scrubbed inside my throat and over my tongue.

Connor didn’t move nor made any attempt to wipe his face. “Drink” was all he said.

That wasn’t water, that tasted like dust was mixed with ash and wet grass. I had enough of tasting wet grass for a lifetime.

I shook my head very, very slowly.

His gaze hardened. “Drink it, you will feel better”

I needed actual water not whatever crap he put in that bottle.

“N–no” I shook my head again and tried to move, to get away from him but then he got on his knees and placed them on either side of me, effectively trapping me.

The sun was now shining brightly over our heads, telling me that Connor had tortured me for hours relentlessly.

Connor inched closer, his legs caging mine and he leaned forward. “Don’t make me repeat it”

The training session was over, he couldn’t boss me around anymore. I didn’t say it as much as I glared at

him.

But one of his hand raked upward towards my head and then I felt his fingers slip inside my dirt covered hair.

That touch shouldn’t have been able to make me feel anything except anger but somehow it did. His fingers grabbed a fistful of my hair, angling my face towards him.

“Open your mouth”

For a second all I did was glare at him very hard, hoping it would convey my frustration at him before looking away. He looked completely unbothered and with his other hand grabbed my chin to force me to look at him again.

Then with the pad of his finger, he reached slowly for my lower lip, tugging it down. I shook slightly, trembling like a leaf and blamed my exhaustion on that sudden movement.

His eyes kept boring into mine as he pulled my lip even lower, forcing my mouth open.

“I told you, you have to do as I say. Now will you listen or want me to use my aura to make your already fried brain do what I want?”

For the first time, I hated the Moon Goddess for making alphas such assholes with a big ego and great

power.

I took in a shaky breath and replied. “Only a….little”

He tipped the bottle to my mouth and I almost gagged at that bitter, green taste but he continued pouring it in my mouth.

I tried closing my lips but his grip on my hair tightened just a fraction. “Stop it or you’ll choke”

I made all the faces, gagged a few more times but he didn’t let go until I had finished that entire bottle of whatever hellish drink he had conjured from dead bodies of some graveyard.

Only when he was certain that I had drank it all did he throw the bottle aside. I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand like a grizzly bear and then shoved him hard.

He landed not so graciously on his butt but he didn’t look the least surprised by my move. I dusted my hands and looked down on him as I got up.

“Don’t you ever do that again!”

He stayed on the ground, looking at me but mumbled to himself.

“Yeah, it does work”

“What?”

He straightened his hoodie and got up from the ground, pointing at the bottle.

The drink you just had. It made you feel energized quite quickly”

I blinked, having momentarily forgotten that I had been wheezing and lying like a dying animal merely minutes ago.

I had trouble moving but I had somehow shoved him away, gotten up and yelled at him in the same breath.

And I wasn’t wheezing anymore.

“Oh” was all I managed.

“Yeah, you are welcome. I guess it was enough for today”

Saying so he threw the towel and the other bottle at me before turning around to walk away.

Was he leaving just like that?

“Wait” I called after him, grudgingly opening the other bottle and drinking the stuff of nightmares because I needed energy to talk to him.

“Go relax. We are done for the day”

His phone buzzed at the same instant and he was about to pick it but then I reached for his arm to stop him from doing so.

“We are not”

The phone kept ringing until the call tune ended and he looked at me.

“Maybe I should restrict you to only one bottle a day”

I huffed irritatedly. “I wasn’t talking about training…”

I began but his phone rang again. This time he did receive it, raising his finger to silence me.

I couldn’t look at the screen fast enough to check the caller name but that voice felt familiar. “Hey there, busy?”

“Not really” Connor answered and turned around to start walking towards the gym. I stayed closer, trying to listen to the voice keenly.

1 vaguely heard her mention something about a file, some contract and numbers which Connor kept answering like he knew everything from the back of his hand.

Why the hell did that voice sound so familiar? Where had I heard it before?

I tried to rack my brains but nothing came to mind of who she was and why was she sudder so much?

“Yeah, the terms are amicable. I realized section nine would definitely need some tweaking the

I was walking too close to him, leaning as much as I could on his shoulder to hear the conversation.

He stopped abruptly and looked at me.

“What are you doing?”

I fumbled for words. “I still wanted to talk to you about…”

“I am answering a work call?” He countered and stepped away from me, pushing the phone back to his ear.

“So we can sign the contract if you are good to go”
